SOLD my G... Time to shop... :)

Sold my G37s coupe... Much faster than I anticipated... First guy that looked at it bought... https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-cou...-pic-time.html

Now time to shop... Debating between G37s sedan or IS350. I really would like to get the 20th anniversary sedan with the red interior. . Here's are my thoughts:

IS350 pros:
-Better interior quality (at least from what I've researched and seen in person).
-Better MPG
-Sexy looks (especially with the sport package).
-Mark Levinson. So crisp...

IS350 cons:
-Seems to be priced higher than G37s for similar year/mileage/options.
-Too quite on the inside (as in can barely hear the exhaust/engine).
-Small inside

G37s pros:
-Sexy looks!!! Especially the 20th anniversary edition with red interior.
-Great engine/exhaust sounds
-Lots of quality options to mod (if desired)
-Roomy (both front and back seats)
-Sporty, yet comfortable ride

G37 cons:
-Interior quality (easily scratches and 'buble butt' seats)... Leather seems to crack easily. Even with low mile cars... I just looked at one with 20k miles and the seats looked like they had 50k miles...
-MPG... Used to average under 20mog on my coupe.
-Resale value seems to take a plunge after about 40k on the ODO.

A brand new car? Neither IMO because both cars are speculated to get full change soon. If you're looking for a Japanese luxury car, I'd wait and see the new IS and G. However, If you need a car right now and debating on these cars, I'll take G37 anytime over a Lexus. But Frankly, I'd do my research on German Luxury Cars: B/MB/A

You took 4 months to buy your car and kept it for around 7 days, and sold it ?

From: Framingham Ma,
Just IMO the Lexus is always priced to high for what you can get compared to the G. When we ( Wife and I ) Where shopping cars she was looking at the IS250(350) and G37 Sedans. G won hands down, Power, Size of interior and options priced OTD.. Agree with the seats, All tho my wifes sedan seat still look brand new and mine looks like HELL. She has a 10 sedan and I have a 11 Coupe. Might just be the coupe seats

IS back seat is useless, might as well be a coupe. Performance doesn't compare unless you get the ISF line. I DO like the looks of the IS line but other than that, Lexus has become ho-hum except the new GS with ALL the trimmings (the car in the commercials have optional body kits .... $$$$$).

Get the M Hybrid, wicked good looks inside and out, great mileage and 0-60 in 5.1. That's my next car.

Just curious, how much you get for it?

I saw the Craiglist post and it was like 29,2 or something.

Not brand new... Used... I don't buy brand new due to the significant loss the car takes in the first 1-2 years... I generally get a car that 2-3 years old... You can find a great deal and still a very clean car... I like the BMWs, however the maint/reliability is a major concern... My last few BMWs cost way too much to maintain... I'm going to stick with Japanese for now.

Incorrect. It took me about 4 month to find it, which started last year... I kept the car over 2 month... Sold it because I wanted a bigger family car... I started looking and bought the car before I joined myg37 forum...

I sold a coupe, and now looking for a sedan... Yes, same brand because I like the Infiniti brand... 2011 M3 is out of my price range at this time...

The M is a big and heavy car... My understanding is that Infiniti will offer a hybrid option in the new G. Meanwhile, I would just get a G37 sedan to replace the coupe if I were you. I believe the G37 beats everything at its price level overall - no better choice out there for that money in my opinion.

You could always lease an inexpensive car for a short period of time while you see what develops over the next year or two.

Agreed... The M does look pretty hefty... I haven't driven one so I can't speak on it's driving dynamics... I'm thinking that a clean G37s sedan is the best bang for the buck right now...

I was thinking about going the 'cheap car' route for a bit while I'm still in school... I'm interested to see what the new G will look like... As well as the new IS... Both are due to be released in the near future...

Yes, the M is a big and heavy car but .... Infiniti combines the electric motor and gas motor for 360hp and Motor Trend or Car & Driver (can't remember which one) got 0-60 in 5.1 ,,, that's faster than our G's. I know the M and G are two different type of cars completely.

The OP got rid of the coupe for more of a family car, the M fits that but as he has since posted it's too expensive. Since he never posted a suggested price range in the beginning he got all suggestions. Yes, I concur in the G37 sedan for his choice now that he has clarified
