Just Joined 08 coupe g37s

Hi all,

So excited to have just bought an 08 g37s coupe! I have so many questions and no answers!

Does anyone know how i can remove my orange side strips out of my headlights? Or any aftermarket headlights that dont cost 3000 like clearcorners.com (thats ridiculous)

Im looking into some small performance mods, but i want to know of reliable and relatively inexpensive ones.

Thats it for now any input would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome!

Bake em and take em out yourself if you have the *****. I did that for my Accord a long time ago. But you need to seal them correctly or you run the risk of getting moisture inside later. Or you could get overlays for them, which would probably be the cheapest and least riskiest way to go, although it's not the cleanest solution. Or you could buy a new set as you said, but it'll be expensive and you'll have two sets of lights (although you could technically sell your set and most/all of the money back).

As far as small performance mods, the cheapest one I can think of is probably an intake. Still not that cheap since unlike most cars, we have two intakes so the cost is usually higher. For the price, you could shell out an extra bill or two and get an axle-back exhaust like the Tanabe Medallions like I have. Just to let you know, there aren't too many mods outside of FI that would get you significant performance gains in this car; it's pretty efficient in its stock form.

congrats on the car even though it's a pretty ugly one..........kidding. You could send your headlights to 180custom and they'll remove the orange for you but they do charge quite a bit.

Hey man, congrats! It's truly a fun car, so enjoy. Welcome to the forums!

If you want to remove the orange, I say just get the whole headlight (housing, projector shroud, and side strip) painted instead. It'll look much better. Here's a group that does it, they're based out of New York: https://www.myg37.com/forums/lightin...ls-prices.html

Also, based on your location there are various people who you can send them out to and they will paint or remove the side strip for you. Again, I highly recommend having them painted. It makes the car look completely different. If you're in L.A. talk to Raul G, he's the man. I'm having mine done this weekend. SO SYKED! Another guy is breftayka, who you can send them out to and he'll do the Iron man (LED's around middle projector shroud) along with painting for a great price.

My recommendation: do some searching before you post questions because will people get mad if they find a thread with the answer

Anyways, here's some of my .02.

Performance:
- Intakes: I chose R2C Maxxflow air intakes ($400-$500). I love them. They sound SO good and you can definitely feel a better pull. The growl gets you excited and pumped.
- The main thing to do which you'll hear from a lot of people is to super charge (SC) or twin turbo (TT). That costs a lot around $8k - $10k An exhaust system, a good quality one with what you're looking for, will run you around $1-$1.5k.
- Go looking through the Private Classifieds section to find some good quality stuff for cheap prices.

Relatively cheap to you, with this car, has to be around $400+.

Welcome to the place where are your money will go for the time being you have your G. If you have self restraint, count yourself lucky.
