How the heck do I tell the difference? Not sure what color mine is, I tried a google search for images and they both look the same to me

For those who haven't seen it, here it is:

 

In person, the Platinum graphite looks like a silver shade basically. The Amethyst graphite has an almost light brown hue to it, sometimes you can see a purple hue in it at night with certain lighting conditions. Yours looks like Amethyst graphite from the pic.

 

Just look at the paint code on your doorjamb.

Platinum Graphite is K51

Amethyst Graphite is K57

 

i'd say play graphite looks just like mine did stock.
