Hello All NewComer With a Question!!

Greetings all!!!!!!!

Just saying hi to all of you!!!!!!!

And now the question........
Im getting a G37 coupe, thats already decided.........

However im Torn between a 6speed manual and the 7speed paddle auto.

I have driven a manual G35 coupe and a Auto G35 coupe and i really preferred the Manual.....

However i really like the whole paddle shift idea with the 7 speed having more gears, and correct me if im wrong the 7 speed is more aggressive with the ratios, so it would be quicker?????

How quickly does it shift? Is it more like a GTR which shifts almost as soon as you pull the lever, or is it more like a slush-box that u have time to drink a gulp of soda before it shifts.

Either way by March 01 i will be the owner of a coupe!!!!!

And again Hi to all of you!!!

Welcome to the site! For me, it's preference. I prefer MT; I've always owned them. But I've heard the 7AT pulls harder than the 6MT...but I think it's in the head. Test drive both and see how you like them. Either way, you're getting one helluva car.

X2 i prefer the 6MT its a lot more fun to drive. I have driven the G37 7 speed loaner cars before. It pulls about the same as when my G was stock.

You've got to be kidding, right?
The GTR has two clutches and shifts gears in 20 milliseconds.
Of course, it also costs almost twice as much as the G37.

I really did not want my 4th post for me to come off like a jerk... but Calgarywinger... do you have the concept of what a question is???

I was ASKING because i didn't know, if you have nothing meaningful to say that i would be happy if you did not post!

Why dont you take your self jump to the bottom of a nine foot pool and BREATHE.......DEEPLY!!!

Again "Questions" are asked when someone does not know the answer!!!

ie: My post, or something you may not know the answer to: "Whats one plus one?

Thanks

If I had the choice to do it all over again I would get a AT dude to the fact that I'm stuck in traffic like 70% of the time and hate having to change gears every 3 seconds or so.

There is not difference between 7AT and 6MT expect for the fact that the 7AT gets slightly better gas mileage than the 6mt but not by much.

Also, Black Betty has grounding wires that you can get to help out the throttle lag.

to answer your original question, yes there is very noticeable lag between the time you shift the paddle and the time the gear actually shifts with the AT

6MT is more fun and engaging to drive, plain and simple. It's not even about faster or not.

i prefer the 7AT, however i'm just lazy and have driven MTs all my life. sitting in traffic having to manually shift gears blows.....must my opinion.

as far as the grounding kit sold by BB, i received an email from him today stating that he no longer is selling the kit for G's.....least that's what the email said.

I have it from a good source that this is probably not true. Pay good money for pretty wires and of course they help something. Unless existing wiring is corroded or not securely fastened, save your money for something else.
