I have had 5% on every car ever. Never on the windshield though. Never had a ticket and lived in CA, NY, OK, FL, TX, and NV. Get what you want just don't be a dummy (driving)...

Wow 50%.....?!?! 30% legal in TX, back windows no limit, heres the trick for black cars...make the back windows darker, than the front. in your case ie.... front 35% rear 30-25%. Being that the car is black on black the cops assume your dark interior makes your tint appear darker. And if the cops pull you over for your tint, they have to test the tint to get the percentage of the tint.....roll your windows down...you dont not have to roll them up...they cant make you roll them back up. Ive done it millions if times in my Tahoe which is 5% all around. Good Luck!

Leave the moonroof visor open, let's light in and helps the tint look lighter

I live in Virginia with 30% all around on my G, black on black interior. In 2 years I've never been pulled over for tint.

I moved from Florida to NoVA with my acura, got pulled over about a month into the new state, cop measured my window tint visibility and the meter stated it was 3.89% lol, had a friend in Florida who tinted Limo with double layer, and THAT was dark and illegal. lol

I work in Fairfax and ride 35% on the front four windows, and 20% on the rear one. To date - I've never had an issue. On my last car I had 20% all around and rode almost 2 years without any issues, including several traffic stops. I think the guy who pulled me over for just tint had nothing else to do on a Sunday night. Fortunately I was getting rid of the car, so I removed the tint and the judge threw the case out.

ive gotten pulled over 1 time for having 30% on my old car, basically it was late at night, the cop was bored, pulled me over and said he couldnt see in so he gave me a ticket..on the g im getting 15%, IF i get pulled over again ill just turn my interior lights on, or roll the windows down when i see a cop lol oh and i live in pa where its legal 50% too

oh and see if whatever shop your going to can use one piece of tint on the back windshield, i know some places around here will use two pieces and try and line it up, .. imo i think it doesnt look good like that, so id say definatly ask if they can do it with one piece

3M is great tint i had 35% mirror on my i30 and it lasted 8 years no fading or bubbles at all.

Geeze Checkov, I tell you You've commented on many Legal Issues though I must say this, YOUR TO UP TIGHT!!! Go get some NOOKY!!! You need to understand one thing!!! not many of us here are looking to break any laws just enjoy a Nice UNIQUE RIDE!!!! I've been doing this for over 20 years building cars trucks and I've never met( HERE) someone to be so Critical! Yes Our G's are not some cheap Chevy's or Fords this is TOP of the Line NISSAN!!! you know!!! yes I got tickets and not looking to hurt no one but I must say that to the guy that started the post is that go with what you think looks good. I was dark on my Tint...My G is Black on Black. went 20% the first time...now 40% now and I've sit next to CHP and now they just wave...they can see me though I took off all the tint and went one color! Blk Interior sucks when it comes to tint makes it look even darker! so I hope that helps since we both have the same colors...I like my 40% all around including windshield! hehe but I cover that up with a tint strip that makes it look plain...so just be cool and they will be cool with you....and as for Checkov...Bueso!

IPL CARBON,
First of all, the OP was asking for comments and so I gave him mine. If you don’t like the answer then just ignore it. There’s no need to get personal. It doesn’t further the discussion nor does it compliment you.

Second, I often comment on legal issues because I believe such concerns are often overlooked in this forum, and it may be useful to instill a bit of reality coming from an older person’s prospective. I believe that in the long run, loading a car with illegal tints and challenging the CHP to do something about it is not a responsible approach to car ownership. If you disagree, fine, but keep my personal life out of it.

I appreciate that this is your first post, but if you review the many past threads on this subject you may find that being pulled over for illegal tints, even in New York, is more common than you think. In other words, having never been pulled over for it is no guarantee that it won’t happen tomorrow. And of course, that does not address the possibility of killing yourself some night because you couldn’t see some contingency in the dark.

If it was up to me, and of course it isn’t, I would add to every post that says, “I’ve never been pulled over for….....” the word YET.
