Infiniti Dealership Service?
Infiniti Dealership Service?
Ok, I have G37X coupe that I got on Apr 25, 2011.
Unfortunately, this car came without rear deck lid spoiler.
I ordered it from internet and it should be here by Friday
I wanted to get it installed professionally at dealership so I called one of the closest dealership around
and asked them how much it would cost for me to install the spoiler on my car.
The first thing they asked me was did you get the car from us? I said no and what they told me was ridiculous.
They said they can't install anything on my car if I didn't get the car from them even though the parts that I'm trying to install is OEM.
Is this how most infiniti dealerships lose their business?

Obviously they don't want your business. Who cares why? Just spend your money somewhere else that appreciates it. And why not mention the name and location of the dealership in your post so that others in the community will avoid them too?
This dealership is called Ramsey Infiniti, located on North Jersey and it's like 6 miles away from my house but I don regret getting my car from 30 miles away.

Wow...Ramsey amazes me. I am starting to think they don't want to make money. I went to their lot once when buying my G. Although I didn't buy the car, worse dealer I've experienced (and I've bought many cars from various dealers over the years and have had a mix of decent and bad experiences). Ramsey takes the cake. I will spare you all the details of my dealing with them but I would suggest anybody serious about getting into a car, steer clear of them. Even if they are the only lot that has the car you want, you'd be best to avoid them.

most dealers make money by doing service and selling parts.
some will actually lose money on a car and make it back from service.
someone should call and tell them they are being bashed on the forums.
But my guess is they probably won't care, since most Infiniti owners, unlike BMW or Porsche owners, do not post online....

Many dealerships do not want to install "after market" parts, it is a liability issue.
That said, you could have purchased the spoiler from a dealership and they would have gladly installed it (at least mine did).
They had a sub contractor do it on their premises the job he did was, in my opinion, sub par. The wing looks great, but I can see the imperfections in the installation. The moron who installed it put swirl marks on the trunk lid and he tried to get the spots out but clearly knew little about how to do it. I was able to reduce the swirl marks to being barely noticable, but it took an hour of careful buffing.
My dealer has been great so far, although, I don't get in there much, except the occasional oil change. My 08 G sedan was another issue.
Good luck.
