Roof Overlay

I ordered my roof overlays. I want to know if anyone has uninstalled their overlays. Did it leave a big mess? If so, what did you use to clean it up?

There is a thread on this forum where a member had taken his overlay off and found that the moisture that is captured under it ruined the paint and it actually was starting to rust. He had to have his whole roof resprayed!!

Of course that was a carbon panel overlay, if you are doing vinyl than you only have to deal with glue residue if removed.

Yeah. I saw that post. That's partially why I'm asking. I shouldn't have problems, I think. Hopefully others who have the overlays can chime in. I'm guessing the glue comes off ok.

I don't have a roof overlay, but I had my rear valence overlayed. One of the easiest uninstalls I've done, didn't even need to apply heat. I straight up peeled it off and there was only glue residue near the edges which I removed with bug and tar remover. These were bluebat overlays btw. And of course, it also depends on how well the overlay was installed. I'm assuming if the overlay quality and install was crap, you might suffer from some damages. Otherwise, you should be okay.

I have a roof overlay, and i"m sure this question has been answered before. But I got to thinking... how long do these last? Is it three years or more?
