It is worth it?
Cars are depreciating assets, the only financially sound car would be a Prius or something with cheap monthly payments and good MPG. Even then you would be "losing money". Yet the whole point of luxury cars is for improved tech, comfort, status, power, etc.
Any car can get you from A->B, it is really your decision what monthly payment you feel comfortable with in exchange for the reason you want a certain car or upgrade.

The problem is that you would not just lose your 1 years worth of payments. You will lose the difference between the purchase price and the current market value (depreciation). Your down payment, if any.
How long is your finance contract?
You have received some sound advice here. You can never be certain about what you buy, but chasing the latest and greatest is very costly. Enjoy what you have and you may be able to buy a new one...talk about depreciation. Good luck.

Did you make any down payment? If so factor that in money you're losing. You asked if it was a good idea financially. It isn't. Period. You asked if you will lose money. You are. If you still choose to spend more money on a car one model year newer that's up to you. Lots of members here make horrible financial decisions regarding their cars. Modding isn't a good financial decision. Leasing a new car every couple of years simply assures that you will have a payment every month for the rest of your life for something you'll never own but people do it.
It's your decision. But yes, it's financially unsound. Now go do what you want.
