That front end pic of the next g coupe is hideous. Hope it doesn't turn out like that.

The 6.2 L AMG(m156) engine is a phenomenal engine(I had a c63 for a year), would be great to see it exist in the auto industry longer (I think it's lifespan was abridged b/c of Mercs low fleet fuel economy average.) The engine has loads of torque with immediate throttle response, feels like a true race car for the road engine.

The AMG 5.5 L Twin Turbo(m157) makes over 500hp and over 550 ft-lbs, not 360hp. My guess is the article just has a mistake, the infiniti 35h engine has 360hp.

Infiniti needs some high performance editions of their cars to be a true premium brand with highly desirable cars. AMG is a great choice.

I really doubt they'll take the m156 from AMG... The motor in the C63 is detuned as it is, so that's some SEVERE de-tuning to get it to ~360hp... Same thing with the 5.5L. Plus, the reason why Mercedes got rid of the 6.2L was because of the increasing gas prices. I doubt that Infiniti doesn't see the same problem...

Are you saying they are going to replace a 40K-50K car with a 70K car? That doesn't make sense. Alot more people can afford a 40K car then a 70K car.

I personally don't buy the same brand twice, so in 5 years when I get a new car it will be a new brand.

Smashed FX! No Thanks lol

70k price tag ! no thanks .

I'm sure it won't look this way but the Bigger more powerful engine attracts my attention! But still in that price range I will go w a Diff car. My next at will be in the 50-60k range so when my lease ends in 2013 (June) I will either keep my G and buy it out unless the Next coupe is around my price range and carries a more powerful engine. My next car I am planning on a V8 or Hope the 2013 Coupe carries a V6TT or Keeping my G and adding GTM TT . Decisions Decisions ! Maybe the Next IPL will be more badass gotta wait and see! Either way one of these rides will be rolling on Some Vossen Concaves.

yeah if the actual production car looks like that one on the pic, they just buried the G line. Why in the world can't they just use their own V8??????

Most japanese companies dont do v8.
just now you are seeing some with performance in mind.
Dads 2000q45 only makes 266hp from 4.5 liter.

Point is the 1st q45 had 292hp back in 1990, japanese take existing idea & work on it as a only copy no innovation.
Point is q45 is flagship model is now m56.

It should have at least 500hp to be in the top slot, 420 hp with its weight is not the greatest performer.

no, this is an all around fluke. There's no way that Infiniti can possibly go form a 40k vehicle price to a 70-80k price. Infiniti's aren't even that well known in the midwest. I can see them being very popular in the southern states, but there's just no way that they would take that leap from one gen to another.

Make a Hybrd ...and then go ahead and produce a V8? I don't think so...
