Can't decide... :/

Hey guys, i own a 2011 white g37 coupe non sport, it has the 18" stock 10 spoke wheels. The wheels are too small (imo) so i was thinking of slapping some cv1's on the ride.... but I don't want to spend 3 grand getting wheels for a leased car. My cheaper alternative is to just get lowering springs which is most probably going to be eibach pro kit. Do you guys think my stock 18" wheels will look different with a drop, and make the car look more aggressive? Or should I just invest in some wheels? Thanks a lot. Open opinions please pics of someone with an eibach drop on 18" wheels would be great! (perferabble the new 10 spoke ones)

The thing you have to realize with wheels is that you'll be able to resell them. I've sold multiple sets of wheels that I fixed up then sold for a profit. The $2500 or so you'll drop on a set of wheels is only a temporary expense, as you'll be able to sell them for probably 90% of what you bought them for.

On that note, and this is just my personal opinion, I think the value of used Vossens will drop in the near future. It seems like everyone has them. I think (and would hope) that people would want to move away from the norm and make their car their own style, as opposed to something that the next guy has. I personally didn't get CV1s because some guy right down the street from me has them. Again, that's just my opinion and if that's the style that you're into then I say go for it.

U can also drop on stock sport 19's.

And you're not gonna get 90%+ resale on used rims unless they're pristine. If u DD them then they're bound to be affected by the time your lease is up

no one is selling stock 19's for less than 1 grand.

I guess it depends on how you drive, but I haven't curbed/rashed/bent a single set of wheels that I've had. If you treat them properly and are careful, 90% resale is not that farfetched.

the good part about not getting new wheels is i can spend the money on a cai, and exhaust... that's probably the only main reason why I'm leaning towards not getting wheels, but I don't know if I would feel the performance difference because im not really a fast driver

I think you should get the wheels instead. The wheels without a drop will look WAAAAY better than a drop without the wheels. Your better alternative is just go will less expensive ones than the CV1's. At least, IMO. Here's a pic of a drop with 10-spoke 18" wheels--the same you have, I believe.

It also depends on what you want. For instance, with a cat-back exhaust or any other mods, you'll probably get a feel-able increase in performance. But if you get wheels like Vossen's, which come in 20", you car will actually be slower! There's a thread here where a guy put an exhaust, CAI and Vossens and his car, and went down almost an entire second slower in his 0-60 time. The heavier wheels+tires as well as the increased rotation and all that stuff that comes with bigger, heavier wheels will slow you down noticeably. Looks or performance is your choice. Unless, of course, you got with much lighter wheels that are 19", that is.
