Gave the G back :(
Well, I'm going to be the downer of the lot.
Jeep is rated as one of the least reliable vehicles sold in the U.S.
Here's a quote about it.
Jeep
Jeep
Reliability score: 71%
Jeep is the sister company of Chrysler, and it appears poor reliability is a common characteristic of the two. The brand is renowned for its tough-looking 4x4s, but don’t be fooled by those butch exteriors. Older models like the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee suffer with poor reliability scores, dropping the average older model rating to 67.9%. Servicing costs are comparatively high too - only a Porsche will cost more to maintain over a year.

I'd call that a pretty good compromise. Just make sure the kids aren't holding on to any food or drinks every time you accelerate, lol. Congrats man.
I think I'd go with the M3 sedan route if I had to convince the wife.

Sure, here are the details:
Basically I had to take a loss because I returned the car from lease a year early. I couldn't wait the year because I really needed the new vehicle to ferry my kids around and my wife wasn't willing to wait.
So based on that, they told me normally i'd have to pay out every remaining month plus a penalty fee in a normal situation. However they told me in my particular case, my car was a "wanted" car by the dealership as they had a few customers lined up that showed interest.
Apparently all the used G37's in my town are mostly automatic and not fully loaded. Where mine was the fully loaded 2008 G37 S with every single feature, 6 speed manual and it only had 43000 km (just under 27000 miles) on it.
So instead they waived the penalty fee and only made me pay half of the months I had remaining to get out of the lease. This was only because I went to buy my Jeep from another dealership. They said if I had bought a used or new vehicle from them, then they could have possibly waived most if not all of the payments I had owing on the lease.
So the moral of the story is - if they want your car, they will go out of their way to help you out of your lease. If they don't want your car then they probably won't do much, if anything for you.
As far as the inspection part of returning the car, they do a quick test drive to make sure everything is working and they try out all the features. Then they take your car in conditionally while they have their mechanics look at it. Once everything is good, you will get a letter from Infiniti Finance later stating they have released you from the lease and all is good.
Hope this helps!

I have one year left on my lease and seeing that they normally waive 3 payments so as long as I get into another Infiniti, I'm not quite sure what Infiniti it would be, if an Infiniti at all. I'd either get an M37s or IPL. Those are two different breeds but at least I have an understanding of how you were able to finagle the system a bit to work in your interests whilst minimizing the most amount of negative impact to you financially. That definitely helps and thank you
