Well, my first scratch...

It was bound to happen sooner or later, I just figured on it being LATER as I've only owned my 2011 for 2 months.

3 little quarter inch gouges on the rear bumper near the license plate area.
I wouldn't mind so much if they were scratches, but they are little gouges. Sigh.
I'm pretty sure it's from someone who had practically parked on top of me a week back.

It's not the end of the world, but I'm really nit-picky about my car and this hurts a little :P

That being said, I washed and waxed the car last night and it looks awesome!
It's been nothing but garbage weather for the last month so it was nice to be able to finally detail the car.

I use Collonite 845 for a wax. It's easy to apply and does an awesome job (and it doesn't discolour trim).
And I tried AutoGlym Tyre dressing for the first time last night. It looks great, hopefully it holds up a while.

Are you going to try some filler and touch up paint on the gouges? It always hurts with a brand new car to find the first imperfections. And like you said, certainly would have been easier to deal with if it wasn't just 2 months old!

I'm not sure what to do yet. I can live with them, but as the car is nearly brand-new, I'm going to talk to my dealer's autobody source and see what they :could: do. The gouges are raised a bit too so they would have to sand...

Sorry to hear about the first few scratches... Hopefully they can come out farily easily or that they are not too noticeable.

I just noticed the same thing lat night. Must of happened when I parked on the street for a few minutes and someone tried to parallel park behind me.

I wouldn't mind as much if it was just a minor scrach (as I would try to buff it out) but they are small gouges! People in LA can't drive!!

Might consider finding a decent shop to fix it in LA/Valley area.

I'm assuming it was a car I saw parked right up the rear of mine.
Their car was nearly kissing mine, and I felt alarmed but my bumper wasn't damaged when I took a quick glance for dents.
It's funny too as I left a LOT of room between the rear of my car and the rear parking line dividing the two spots, and they still felt the need to shut their brain down while trying to park.

I can't imagine what else it could be...a pissed-off squirrel maybe?

Sorry to hear about your scratch, Stanislav.

I know it's bound to happen, especially with it being a daily driver, it just stings that I'm still in the new-car honeymoon phase :P

I'll see what the body shop quotes me.
