ok so i dont mean to repost or anything but i've come down to some much wanted specs for wheels and I just wanted to know if this would work on an awd coupe

offset would be F +20 R +25

F 235/30/20 R 255/30/20

if not, please could someone give me some sort of formula for calculating a proper OD for staggered wheels on an X coupe

ive also seen offset F 32 and R 42 which looks very nice as well

For AWD, the diameter must be the same on all 4 wheels. Check out this web site to calculate your diameter.

no it doesnt need to be exactly the same. as long as your less than 3% your fine.

245/35/20 275/30/20 is 1.1%
245/35/20 285/30/20 is 0.1%

im getting the first combo and will update when they arrive. if it doesnt work out then il get the 285 but im not worried about it.

 

Well i hope it works out fine im sure it will look great and the fact that ur going with 275 will show off the wheel a bit more right ? but with your help i know now that this will totally work. and just to make certain with you going with 275 that would mean that the rear tire is slightly not as tall as the front one?

 

no problem. im getting the 275 because i was worried about rubbing with the 30 offset. if i have an extra 5mm of space then i will get the 285's.

the height difference is minimal between the 245 and 275, resulting in the 1.1% difference in circumference. theres a guy running over 3% on his FX with no problems. some say 3% some say 5%, stay on the safe side lol theres plenty of options

Simpson, I think you calculated the second OD incorrectly...

To calculate the overall difference between the two tires, take the larger OD and subtract it by the smaller OD and then divide by the larger OD. ie. for 245/35-20 the OD is 26.8 and for 285/30-20 the OD 26.7. Therefore we have (26.8-26.7)/26.8 = 0.37% difference in the two ODs.

thats the table that i used . you can also get diameter of different rim diameters by changing the 20 in the script

 

now im confused... how does that chart work? and will 285/30/20 245/35/20 work like previously stated?

how do you guys feel about this set up on a Gcoupe AWD

255/40/19 F +30 8in wide rim
285/35/19 R +25 9.5in wide rim

id only have a mild drop at the very most, Eibach prokit (1.9/1.2 if i remember correctly)

 

as far as circumference is concerned, your all good. that setup is 0.37% which is nothing

depends on the offsets if it will rub or not though

 

yeah thats what i was thinking, i hate not being able to try them on... you dont buy shoes with out trying them on and rims are a few bucks more (><')

 

Fico, depends on the wheel, but I don't think you should have any problem running that setup, . 8" ET30 9.5 ET25 should clear fine. But why are you running the higher offset in the front?

 

i got my numbers mixed up lol, swapping tabs><
now i just have to check what offsets i can actualy get the rims in.... thanks for the help guys

 

the wheels i got are 25/30 offsets. il let you know how it works out and if you would be able to run those tires. im going 20" but the overall tire height is pretty close
