Traded my 09 370Z for G37IPL

Loved the 370z but found it to be to focused for my driving style. Also the noise was quite bothersome. Did alot of research between the IPL and the 335I. Price was the biggest factor, the BMW was almost 10K more optioned to what the IPL is. Plus all of the reliability problems was a huge factor for the 335I.

So I bought my fully loaded IPL for 200 bucks below invoice Sales rep told me that the car is not selling, " no one wants them" is what he said. I believe that people misunderstand what Infinity is doing with this car. It was not meant to compete with the German performance cars, its about VALUE. Its a great buy. I have no plans to mod it or do anything except enjoy. Its a world class car just a few ticks off from direct competition of performance German cars. Plus Like someone mentioned their will be only 400 built. I pick mine up Tuesday, graphite shadow with AT

Congrats and welcome. For what it is the car is great. I think that instead of marketing it as "an IPL", they should have marketed it as an "S with IPL package" and/or allow a choice of asthetic componentry. People would have understood the cars purpose much more. The car drives great with it's IPL suspension tuning. Steering was superb. Thats the biggest difference I noticed when test driving.

Awesome choice. It obviously puts you into an exclusice class! You will be much happier over the BM. What were your thoughts when test driving the 2? Obviously value and reliability were the biggest components of your decision, but what other aspects of the IPL sold you on it?

Thanks folks the price was the main factor but also reliabilty,

to many horror stories on the Bimmer forums to take a chance. Spending that much on a unknown crap shoot was just to much for me. The IPL is 95% of what the 335i is at 10k less. Seems like the smart thing to do is buy the IPL

Congratulations.
When I bought my 2010 G37, last year, the only other vehicle that met my needs, as far as looks, handling, performance and size was the 335i.
I had owned a 540i several years back and I liked everything about the car except for the reliability. At first it didn't bother me to have to bring it to the dealer for the constant things that broke on it, but after awhile it became very old, even though everything was done under warranty.
That was the main reason I went with the G37 instead of the 335i. I did save money opting for the G but that was not an issue in my selection.
I've put 10,500 miles on the G with zero problems so far.

Welcome Aboard and Congrats! Your assessment on the 335i was right on, which is why I ended up with the G as well.

370Z-G37= Night and day difference! I was supremely disappointed when I drove the 370 w/ sport package around for a couple of days. I had to keep checking the hatch to make sure that it wasn't cracked open. The cabin noise is so loud in that car! You also felt evey pebble in the road.

welcome.... you'll enjoy the IPL and realize a lot of features are in the new IPL v the 370z....

The IPL does feel like a pig in weight vs. the 370z I will say
