my previous G35 coupe was Athens Blue and I really really loved that color, my lease is ending shortly and I have been debating what color I should get next in the coupe. So far I have narrowed it down to 3 colors, Blue Slate, Lapis Blue and last resort Moonlight white (even though I have Ivory Pearl). Now is Lapis Blue the same as Athens Blue? or is there a slight difference kind of like how Ivory Pearl was a bit yellower than that of the new MW

Plus what are you suggestions for my 3 color choices..

 

I have blue slate. I wish I had an athen's blue, but I think blue slate is a pretty awesome color. It's just hard to pick a rim color with them!

Moonlight white is pretty popular

 

Thing is I have owned athens blue and ivory pearl, I feel those 2 are the best colors out there for the coupe, with the new sports bumper now, the new MW looks beautiful. I would get black only if it were metallic like the bmw sapphire black.

 

Hey Goonz, I have a 2011 G37xS coupe in Lapis Blue. From what I can tell in difference, the Lapis Blue is a lighter & more of a metallic look than the Athens Blue. The Athens Blue is more on the darker side. I'm personally happier that I ended up with the Lapis over the Athens!

 

What yr did they start offering lapis Blue? I bought a used 08 last month dealer said it was Athens Blue but looking at those other threads i swear mine is the same color.

 

this is correct. however id prefer Athens over Lapis........although Athens needs a few more metallic flakes

lapis is introduced on 2011 models....athens is 08-10
