08 37s 6mt front facia cutout

Just picked up an 08 37s 6mt, thought I had looked over closely and no surprises. Well looking at the front facia on the ride side is a rectangle cutout in the honeycomb. Looks like a rectangle box , on the right facing the car so not the tow hook cutout. the cutout is about 5 inches deep, 6 inches wide and 3 inches high. Any idea what this is for or what could have been there. thanks in advance.

Yup, that's for the ICC sensor. Does your car have ICC? If not then someone replaced the front bumper and ordered the one with the ICC cutout by mistake.

How can i confirm ICC, i was told no because does not have sensors in bumpers so if not then the incorrect bumper makes sense. Does someone have a pic of a bumper with the ICC. Man, you guys are helpful and fast. thanks again

If your car has ICC then there will be a laser range finder in the cutout opening. You'll just see a clear plastic panel that has a redish tint to it that fills the cut out.

Also on the steering wheel, on the right side, under the cruise control button you'll see a button with the image of a car with horizontal bars under it (I think). That button is used to select the distance you want to keep to the car in front of you with the ICC system.

Download the user manual and navigation manual from infinitiusa.com if you don't get it with the car. Those manuals will answer a lot of questions.

I dont think the bumpers are different. The cutout on mine has a cover because I don't have ICC. You have a cover over the cut out right?

no cover, just the opening, maybe the cover is missing, this would be good as i suspect everytime I see the opening I will be thinking something is missing. I will check with the dealer to see if there is a part that I can get.

You must have a tech package bumper installed for some reason. Factory '08 G37 coupe does not come with the cutout for the ICC sensor (at least mine didn't).
