Hi Everyone,
I just ended a 12yr relationship with Audi
the last being a '08 TT 3.2 S-Line so I feel that I should do a bit of a comparison..
Ok, questions first as I don’t want to lose anyone on the following dissertation.
Lowering; the car really needs to be dropped, big time!. I'm ordering the Eibachs specifically for the AWD. Anyone know a good installer in the Toronto area?
What is the Auto-Recirculation on the climate control for?>>
Spacers; I’m on the fence 15mm or 20mm. Considering 15/front and 20 rear. Has anyone done this and would it cause issues with the AWD? I know some have had issues with staggered fitment (wheels) on the AWD.
That’s it for the questions, now on with the comparo...>>
The TT is more of a go-cart, a blast to drive but not much fun for the passenger. The G is more luxurious and is better appointed but I sure miss the 3-Blink signal convenience.
The quality of the Nav, audio, and other creature comforts go to the G and Gawd it's nice to have a sunroof again.
Gas mileage, wow.. the G is a pig. I get the same distance from a 75 Ltr tank as I did a 55 in the TT.
The G is bigger (doh) and feels bigger in every way except the "hatch" in the TT is huge. I had to force my golf cart into the G and with one bag of clubs the trunk was stuffed. In the TT, I could add an over-night bag or small suitcase. Oh, I did have to drop the back seats..hmmm
The back seat on the G is actually usable. The TT, only for people under 4'10", and not for long distances.
With the G, I have a few niggles with the audio and bluetooth but nothing terrible (for me). I wish I could voice dial those on the list from the root menu, also a redial feature w/o going through the entire menu.. Am I doing something wrong? Picked up a USB stick, why does it always turn on when I start the car and go to the same song? It's better with the iPod.
Love the ability to rip songs to the HDD
Nav is excellent and I think her voice is sexy (jk).
With the G, I've always been a techie, gawd help those who aren't....

I was laughing out loud.
Congrats on the new car, welcome.
I drove one the same day I bought my G37, I just couldnt see myself being comfortable after 400 miles in one day.
I believe there is a TSB for the Bluetooth where you can call someone with one touch. Like you hit the bluetooth buttom then say "Call John Smith" and it'll call right away...other's can correct me if I'm wrong...glad you love the G OP!
I was contemplating on the getting a TT or the G and I'm glad I made the better choice myself! Had to have a car I could utilize for daily driving and comfort.

I have a 2011 X. I'm lowered on Eibachs but I actually got 20mm spacers for the front and 25mm for the rears. Love the stance. I could probably go 25 in the front and 30mm in the rear to get it perfectly flush but there'd probably be rubbing.

im glad you like the new car, and dont worry if its eating too much gas, its because you are not driving fast enough... and its not a go-cart...
Did you look at the sedan? Lots of trunk room, lighter car, better looking, and super comfortable for 4 people. Coming from a TT you would probably feel like your world just expanded with all the space.
So my reason for jumping ship is simple, it was finacial: my lease payment is $200/month less than a similarily equipped TTS or A5 S-Line.
So go for it, they're great cars.
