Time to say goodbye to my G37 coupe
You got it for 42K? Wow, they've really dropped the pricing then because when my G35 lease was up and I was contemplating an A5 as well, they barely dropped the price $500 below MSRP and they had my config on the lot.
I was glad to get a much better bang for the buck with a G37 than an Audi. My boy owns Audi and I've heard nothing but horror stories about the build quality and services.
And in my area, at least, Audi A5s are everywhere

Man congrats on the new car but I've seen some reliability issues with Audi from friends n relatives, I hope u got that extended warranty. One of my friend bought an a6 brand new in 2008 and that damn thing is always in the dealer getting fix, I hope the newer models are better.
That's a nice car, no doubt, and I've considered it myself. But I decided if I were to buy one in the future I would wait for the S5 to be equipped with the turbo V6 that's in the S4 right now, which has awesome power and gets much better gas mileage than the V8 used in the current S5.
Do you like the MMI media / Nav interface compared to the G touchscreen? I've only test driven the S5 and did not get to play around with the Audi Nav or iPod controller too much how would you rate them to the G?

As for the A5 being everywhere, I don't even see how that is possible. They just don't make or sell a lot of them. I hardly ever see them on the street. I'd bet Nissan sells at least three G37 coupes for every A5 sold by Audi. Not that it matters though, but I do think the A5 is a much more rare car...
I've only played around with it on my bro's A5. When I get my car, I'll learn more about it for sure. My first thought is that the Audi system isn't as intuitive as the system in my G37. One nice thing about the Audi is that you have several different options to import MP3 songs on to the car's hard drive. You can even use a USB flashdrive, which is nice.

BTW, enjoy the new ride.
Audi's are crap cars. I've never owned one but I have a friend who bought a 2010 A5 early last year. That car LIVED at the shop. After fighting with the dealer and Audi USA they basically bought his car back and gave him an S5 for 38k + he put down 5k cash. For a total of 43K. His monthly payment only went up by $15. Yeah I didn't believe it either until I actually saw it, but if they can't fix your car I guess they'll let you double down on stupid. Sweet looking car but that quality is not confidence inspiring.

Congratulations on your decision! The A5 is a beautiful car - I almost went for the A5 myself a year ago. Really, really close to getting an A5. After researching, test driving, and staring at both for a long while, I finally went for the G for several reasons:
1) Owned two Muranos (2006, 2010) and two G35 coupes (2003, 2007) previously - had excellent ownership experiences, rock-solid quality (just routine stuff), and great service from our local dealers.
2) A critical point is that I have a toddler and an infant - for some reason the G's rear seat was much easier to get in and out of. I found it nearly impossible to get into the back seat of the A5 with our infant carrier seat in tow, possible due to that beautiful low-slung design. A car with four seats was critical since I'd be picking up my kids at least once a week. Sadly, this eliminated the Z and Cayman from my list too.
3) Found the G more fun to drive and love the exhaust note. The performance edge was important for me - fuel economy was not high on my list. Although the A5 does has AWD, I have snow tires and a Murano for bad weather options.
4) The A5 looks fantastic and definitely turns heads, but just too many in the Princeton/central NJ areas - likely a testament to how nice the car looks. Anonymity was one of the main reasons I immediately crossed the 335i from my list too (almost indistinguishable from the everywhere-you-look 328i). I don't routinely pass a single G on my route to and from work - I like that.
Anyway, I think the A5 is a great car and I hope you have great experience! It was a really hard decision for me (mainly bc the A5 looks so darn nice), but in the end my two babies took precedence. If I could, I'd take turns driving them to work each day
