accelerator pedal slack?

I've had a 2010 G37 for a couple months and overall, I love it. But it appears to have some accelerator pedal slack, for lack of a better term. For the first inch or so of pressing the pedal, nothing happens - no change in the RMPs, can't feel the engine kick in, nothing. Then as I get past that, bam! the mighty engine kicks in. I've even tried sitting in Park and messing with it -- very clear wiggle room in the pedal that is useless.
I'm in stop and go traffic a lot, and I find that delay in 'start to press foot down' and actual response time is frustrating.

I came from a 2001 Jeep GCL, and the second you hit that accelerator, it responds. No lag; doesn't feel like there's the same 'slack' in the accelerator pedal. Maybe not with as much power, but enough to get me going to the next stop light.

Anyone else experience this? Any ideas how to fix it? Or should I just zen out and learn to deal?

Most of our G37 vehicles are actually pretty sensitive on the throttle. Seems like you should bring it in to the dealer to have them recalibrate it or something.

Driving in DS mode might help. Try it.
