but I'm sure you have seen threads with more than a few other members complaining about poor quality and fitment issues, if you google around the internet you will see AIT has a very horrible track record, and they also COMPLETELY knocked-off Top Secrets design and made it with a lesser quality material, but I'm sure you know that if you own it...
not to go horribly OT...from what I've seen and heard from many people is the AIT front lips are usually great fitment, it's the full bumpers from AIT that have a problem

An AIT body kit is like a Hyundai Genesis coupe. It's obviously a blatant unabashed rip off of the genuine article. It's a pretty good quality copy. It looks "just as good" to some. It'll get you from point A to point B. Some people will confuse it with a G. It's kinda comparable. It's a lot cheaper. But in the end, it's still a Hyundai and the G37 is still an Infiniti. It's all about what you can afford and whether it's important to you to have the original or a knockoff. There's thousands of folks who buy the Genesis and laugh at us who overpaid for a G37 thinking that what they have is the same thing. They probably would buy a $60 flea market Coach or Prada purse for their girlfriend. There's many of us Infiniti owners who scoff at the idea that the quality of a Hyundai could be anywhere near that of our cars. We've paid $650 for a purse before because it's what she wants. In the end we're all free to choose.

You've got the contact info. Get the authentic.

Why by an Infiniti, when you can get a Nissan?

I would say that it all comes down to a pocket book and wanting the authentic. That is really the only reason I would see getting the authentic.

I think these comparisons are getting a little out of hand though. It's a front lip!

AIT can be made to fit perfectly even if it is the full bumper which I think we have more then seen with the examples of the members that have them. That is what a body shop is for. Another thing to consider is how low your ride is or will be in the future cause I don't care what the lip is made of, wrong move and it's trashed. My personal opinion, it's an absurd cost for a lip. If you are going to spend that kind of money, maybe consider the zele kit or at least front bumper. Either way, I think it's a great look and good luck with your decision and purchase.

Igor at 180 Customs (a vendor here on this forum) I hear is just starting to produce the TS-P lip again this month. It is an excellent alternative with excellent fitment and best of all it's poly so it won't chip or crack like the original Top Secret (which is made from fiberglass). If he retails them like he did before they should sell for around $550-$600 shipped. I have one that I bought used off of a member of this forum and it fits perfectly. It is currently being molded so I will have some pics posted very soon. Good luck with your search. I hope this helps.

The OP clearly asked how to acquire an authentic part and so many folks try to convince him to buy a knockoff. I'm pretty sure he's seen the multitude of cars of other forum members with replica body parts. And a few with authentic parts. If he wants to support a reputable company making quality parts instead of a lower quality rip off artist, why do people want to convince him otherwise?

Nothing wrong with trying to help, that's the best thing about the forum. I just don't know how this turned into the authentic vs knockoff thread part LXVII. The topic's been done to death and I'm operating under the presumption that he's fully aware of the multitude of replica parts out there and the differences in quality and cost. Maybe I'm wrong and he'd rather rock a cheap knockoff.

But Betty, it seems like you started the auth. V replica almost. Also you are seriously bashing some members choice and calling them cheap genesis' of Gs just because they did decide to go for a more cost effective but still sick look.

I in no way want to be on your bad side but it almost seems like you are calling anyone who didn't overpay for an authentic lip cheap. I mean please correct me if I am wrong and I am only saying this to be the devil's advocate here though as you are completely entitled your opinion and this is the place to voice it but my fragile feelings may have been a bit hurt if I were one of the members that had the AIT kit...

In no way did I initiate the authentic vs knockoff discussion in this thread. Go back and read it. I did speak my mind regarding my opinions on it just like everyone else.

If you buy cheap knockoff parts and proudly put them on your G and post it up and feel good about it, why would my opinion hurt your feelings? It shouldn't because you did what was right for you. Me saying that they're cheap knockoffs shouldn't come as news. It's just not something I'd do with my car, most folks here would and have no problem with it. I buy used parts and some folks wouldn't do that, so they may think I'm cheap. I don't care. It's just different ways we have of doing our things. I'd rather have used Top Secret or Volk parts than a whole container of new AIT or Rotas. If anyone wants to put cheap parts on their cars they're welcome to. And I'm welcome to think that it's cheap. Im not mad at anyone about it and I hope it didn't hurt their feelings. But it's just my opinion, anyone is welcome to ignore it if it gets their panties in a wad.

Can't wait to see those pics ... I've been a little apprehensive about the AIT kit because of some reviews and I prefer something molded or full bumper. If you dont mind sharing the cost of getting it molded/installed that would be very helpful too.
