04 TL to G37S Coupe

I am planning on getting the G37 Coupe. The only thing I want to know should I get Auto or Manual? I like to drive no less than 40 anywhere and like to go fast + I am going to modd the G what u guys think? And is there a big diff with my tl and the g?

OMG i thought the thread title was the the 04 TL was greater then the G37S. Wow glad that was not what you were trying to say.

if you are modding and that might include FI as in a SC or TT I would go the MT route. I have plowen up my 7AT terans with my SC and to date there are not really any upgrades for that trans. You will get alot of BS on here about the MT being a mans car and it is the only way to go blabla bla. But fact is stock to stock the At is faster. The AT seems to be better for gas milage as well even with the added weight. Big thing is where you are going to be doing most of your driving. If you are the type to get man in stop and go trafic then dont get the MT. I love Mt's but got the AT for meny different reasons (wife being one of them). It really is a personal preferance though and try not to be swayed by the 6MT is for men argument. Both are good options but you should drive both to see what one you like better. The one thing i will tell you is that up shift might seem like they lag with the paddels in the AT. This is not really the case you just got to get used to timing your shifts a bit different. Me i really like the veratility of the 7AT with the DS mode it seems to be the best of both worlds.

I live in NY so It would be pain in the butt to drive the Manual, but I still want to test drive the Auto and MT. I want the G in Metallic Blue color. Exmaple, if I do get Auto what are the best mods for it would be? As for my TL I am tired of it and I don't like FWD anymore lol.

You already know what you want! Well, i was in your shoes too, where traffic might me a pain for me to drive manual, so i i went with Auto, and during when i can drive crazy with my car, i just put it on DS, add a BlackBetty Grounding Kit and that car will drive like a manual!
