The magical "SLIP" light..
Hey, guys, I have an 08 G-coupe 6mt and lately I have noticed that the SLIP light comes on under moderate acceleration in 4th gear only and I am able to repeat it. It does not come on in 3rd or 5th, only in 4th... I doubt I am spinning tires in 4th gear haha. Please let me know if have any info about this. The car works perfect other than that, no lights or anything whatsoever. Thank you!

Maybe a little more info. Does it come on right after the shift or while already in gear nearing red line? Do you still have the original tires on the car?
4th gear is the closest 1:1 ratio where you will get the most hp and tq from the transmission. If your tires are old and lose their traction this can happen if your giving the car some acceleration and means u need new tires asap.

I would take it to the dealership if I were you. if your not spinning then maybe there is a sensor loose or something. I have no clue why it would be doing that.

Haha, no major mods yet, and the tires are LM-60s brand new(and no-there is no snow outside ), the light comes on while I am already in gear and not even before red line, aroung 5k RPM... I guess hell stealership.. Thank you.

I had the same thing with my Auto and LM-60's...was on the highway and stepped on it and saw the SLIP light flash twice real fast. I doubt very highly the tires broke loose unless the LM-60 rubber compound introduces a false positive.

Must be a snow tire thing. Happens on my '09 6MT sedan too but only when snow tires are on. I don't know that I've ever isolated to just 4th gear but it definitely comes on at speeds where I would be in 3rd or 4th at a higher RPM (near torque or power peaks).

When the 19's are back on, everything is back to normal. I cant go past 4-4500RPM in nearly any gear in my AT without seeing SLIP with the LM-60's.

If it blinks 2/sec it means the computer detected one tire with lower pressure than the other 3. Not low enough to trip the TPMS but enough to cause a differential in the traction sensor. Check your tires pressure and make sure they're all within 1 PSI.
