blackened grille

hey guys, i'm thinking of getting my front grille blackened. does anyone know of a place in nyc that i can get it done and how much it will cost to have it done. thanks! i drive a 2010 g37x coupe

Its so easy that you can simply take out the grill and DIY. If you dont feel like getting your hands dirty, try 180|Customs. I believe their shop is located in NY.

also, is the paint easily chipped?

Many have rattle canned it and it looks fine. Plus then you can touch it up when it chips from rocks/dirt. If you take it somewhere you will pay at least $100.

I think if i ever do it, I will go the plasti dip spray + clear coat route.

Hempstead Auto Collision did mine for me for $150...they're located in Long Island, NY

had it for 4 years not and no chipping at all

Sand it
2 coats of primer
3 coats of black
2 coats of clear
and wet sand for a smooth finish.

I've gotten one or two small scratches but like someone else mentioned, you can always repaint it.

how long should i expect the paint to last? wouldnt it fade out after washing frequently or rain over time?
