my rear end damage was worst and i got mine done at a dealership collision center and it came out to 11k. so im guessing from how the pics look your talking about 8-10k max depending on where you take it to get fixed.
Like everybody said, depends on the extent of the damage. Get it thoroughly checked by an independent body shop and see what they say. If there is no frame damage it should be fine once fixed.
unibody damage. if you open the trunk you will see the spare tire area is smashed in. the trunk is pushed up so the rear latch has been pushed in. the rear of the quarterpanels have been sucked in at the corners. it will have to be put on a frame puller and yanked back out.
I recently purchased a pre-owned 2008 G37 with 22K miles on it. During the test drive, I noticed that the steering wheel was off center, turned to the left about 3 or 4 degrees when going straight. Other than that, the car seemed perfect.
After going back and forth with the dealer because I was afraid that it had been wrecked, everything worked out after the car was taken in for an alignment and thoroughly reviewed for any indication of body work.
I was paranoid that I may end up buying a vehicle that had been wrecked, even if it was minor. I was very gun shy because I had purchased a Dodge truck about 5 years ago, that I later found out had been wrecked.....the dealer, lied, lied, lied to me. The truck NEVER would go straight down the road and I found all sorts of hidden things wrong with it after I bought it.
My point is that I would stay as far away from that car as possible. Regardless of how well the body repair looks, it will never be factory fresh. It would suck to pay $23K for that car then end up fighting gremlins probably for as long as you own it. Plus, you will always *know* that it has been wrecked, which will detract from the overall satisfaction that you would have with the car (at least it would for me).
Just my $0.02 from this old dog...
