have you looked at what all it includes? some members have it, some don't. i personally don't have it and haven't had any situations where i wished i had gotten it. Then again, some people who have it might say they are glad they went with it. 4grand is steep, and could go towards a lot of other things that maybe be better for Canada's harsh weather.

It's a personal preference as to what you value to determine if it's worthwhile for you. Most people don't have it and didn't want it or didn't feel it was worth the price. I have it and wouldn't want my car any other way because I use the features all the time. It's up to whether you actually want it and are willing or able to afford the price of it. Down the road it will increase your resale value a bit over a similar car without it. I say purchase it by all means, but most will disagree.

I have the Hi-Tech package and I really like it. I got it primarily for the navigation system but I also find the ICC useful. I see that the Hi-Tech package now comes with rain sensing wipers and Bluetooth streaming audio. I'd definitely get it again if I had the choice now that it comes with those two additional features.

The Nav/back up camera comes separate. Does not require the tech package.
I usually buy cars with all the options, but decided I didn't need the tech or the sport package, for my wants or needs. I haven't regretted my decision.

Navigation and Tech are two different packages. Tech comes with:

• Intelligent Cruise Control[13] with Preview Braking[11]
• Advanced Climate Control System with Plasmacluster™ air purifier
• Rain-sensing, flat-blade variable intermittent front windshield wipers
• Pre-Crash Seat Belts

On my 2008 g37s, it came with the Tech package, which on the above list, really only meant I got Pre-crash seat belts and Intelligent Cruise control... which the Intelligent cruise control I never use. I would not recommend getting Tech package unless you love and use cruise control often, and even then, you still gotta drive the thing. I'd save the $1200 and put it towards something "useful".. I have used Intelligent cruise control 2x in 3 yrs...nough said

The OP said he is in Canada. In Canada the Hi-Tech Package includes navigation.

Many options differ by country or region.

If that specific package includes all stated options, then I would honestly recommend you get it--even for its price tag at 4k.

Canada's hi-tech package is def worth it. The only 'useless' feature (useless meaning unless you love and use cruise control all the time) is the intelligent cruise control, but the "hi-tech" package is a must.
