I got a 2010 G37 Coupe Journey(non-S) and have a problem with A/C.
Mine is 3 month old and has run 2400 minles so far.
About 3 weeks ago when turns A/C on, funny smells come from A/C. Smells like rotten or urine.
I went to the dealer yesterday, they just pulled out my cabin air filter and did spray some product on filter.
Yesterday was fine, but when I started engine today I did smell a little bit.
So I bought a cabin air filter from NAPA and explain what happened to me.
The worker told me that if you change cabin filter, it help a little bit but not remove funny smell completely.
He said there would be mold somewhere, so the dealer has to handle my A/C problem.
The dealer didn't charge me for cleaning cabin air filter this time.
Should I go to the dealer again and complain about this issue? What you guys think? Will the dealer fix or replace my cabin filter for free?

 

You can buy a can of stuff from NAPA/Autozone/whatever that will kill the mold. You just spray it in the vents; changing the filter won't kill the mold it'll only eliminate the smell for a bit.

 

yes go to the dealer and raise hell you by a new car and it smells like urine thats not right

 

Try running your car for about 20 minutes with the heat on full blast with the recirculate off. This could kill any moisture/odor problem.
