I’m an ex-smoker (having quit 42 years ago) who now hates the smell. A few years ago I was given a free loaner while my old Maxima was in the body shop and it had obviously been driven by a smoker. Rolling down the windows or spraying the inside never helped get rid of that foul odor from the headliner. It made me think my own cars probably smelled like that way back then, but as a smoker, I never noticed.

I quit smoking in 03 and would have an aneurysm if somebody smoked in my car. I really don't even like anybody but my wife to ride in my car....

I smoke, but I try not to in the G. I care more about my car than my lungs. Sad but true. The other stuff I don't smoke on the road

OP,
Even if it's been smoked in, does it matter if you can't tell? You can't smell a thing in my car, and you won't find a single burn.

that doesn't get rid of the nasty smoke smell. it will be back in a week if not sooner. once that smell sets in it is impossible to get out

That is certainly true. The smell gets into all fabric areas like the headliner, carpets and A-pillars. And that does not include the tell-tale signs on a smoker’s clothes and living spaces. It just never goes away.

Not to go OT, but there is worse. A coworker of mine owned a few horses and used to feed them before going into the office each morning. We always knew, without looking, when he arrived.

The best way to find out if a used car belonged to a smoker is, look at the very rear by the speakers, a lot of the ashes get stuck there. Even if it was detailed, it is very hard to get into that crack between the rear window and the rear dash.

Also kind of off topic but does anyone know what song is playing in the beginning of this G37 video??

song is Timewarp(short cut) - Phoenix

cigarrettes make your fingers smell bad, and then you touch the steerwheels with those fingers so, i suggest you take a whiff of the steering wheel because whether is smells like leather or smoke! aha

Yeah...i dont smoke at all. And when my window is down listening to the VQ and someone near me is smoking i immediately put the window up. I cannot even imagine living with myself if my G smelled like smoke.
