Yeah, the dealership will replace the muffler without question. When I got mine done (when my car was fairly new) the new muffler just didn't sound the same. I sounded like it had a bit less growl.

Really??? Mine rattles like that when I first start it, but not for long.
I usually pull it out the garage and let it idle while I let the dog out.
Its usually ok by then, but I like the way it sounds. If it loses something
I think I could live with the rattle... What do they do? Just replace the muff?
New Muffler might be nice, but not if ya lose something

air filter and spark plugs may need replacement. that's the only thing that comes to mind, but I am not a mechanic

Spark plugs are slated for 100K IIRC. Air filters should be checked periodically depending on the type of environment you live in.

got my muffler replaced under warranty for rattling noise, now exhaust note is not as loud has it was i can hardly hear it

Yup replaced muffler and it is much quieter now... wish I never replaced it!!!

Only thing I missed was the exhaust note...

Realistically, we don't know how long the VQ37 lasts; nobody has ultra high mileage examples of the engine.
