The Squat-!

I just recently purchased the 2010 G37S with all the fixings, pretty much identical to my 2008 G37S-
So I'm on the 101 North around 1:30am Sunday morning heading to the Valley.
Very light traffic and I'm doing right around 60mph, closing in on an 18 wheeler.
I check all mirrors glance to my left to check the blind spot, all is clear.
I signal left and move to the left lane.
I can now see around this huge truck that must me doing around 55mph.
Now I don't like to take my time getting past trucks, because I've seen them do some pretty wild swerving antics on the freeways, So I decided to press down pretty hard on the gas pedal.
I've only had this car 3 weeks and I had never felt this before in my 2008 G37.
When I hit the gas the back of the coupe seemed to "Squat" down and then she just took off sprinting from 60 to 85mph in what seemed like seconds.
I shot past that 18 wheeler eased off the gas and I could feel the back of the car relax again to a more normal position.

I'm not an aggressive driver so I just want to know if anyone else has felt this type of reaction from the Coupes before.
Don't get me wrong I kind of liked the response, just want to know if anyone else can comment.

Peace.

Yes it normal. It's physics man. If you quickly accelerate forward, it only makes sense that weight would transfer rearward, no?

People have been using anti-squat devices/techniques for years. Ask the muscle car guys.

Yup I get the weight transfer concept, but I've hit the gas hard in my 2008 G37S and it didn't have such a pronounced Squat response.
It really did feel like the car sat down the same way you would sit down on a couch minus the 65-80mph sprint of course.
This is new to me and I found it interesting but not scary or disconcerting in anyway, just an interesting experience in the new G.

you felt the cars transmission kick down to a lower gear, weight transferred and the torque pushing the car.

normal feeling

That "squat" is the reason Audi puts their engines out over the front wheels instead of "mid-front" engine. To reduce that "squat" effect...

its even worse in a car with a rear engine....

I wish there was a way to see what gears the car is using when going from lets say 60mph, hitting the gas and moving to 80mph quickly in the auto D position.
I'm imagining it would go from 7th gear at 60mph down to 5th gear to 80mph.
Would be cool to have a display that shows the gear changes in auto.

Of course it could be a distraction for the driver at those speeds.
