How many G37 owners on this site, have their cars stock
I had my car stock for over a year and I absolutely loved it, but after introducing a few mods it's like I've fallen in love with it all over again. Some people choose to keep their cars stock because they like it the way it is, while others like to customize theirs for more performance, better aesthetics, making their car more unique, or whatever they're looking for.
but when it comes to modding, not all modded cars are "ugly and ricey". I guess it's kind of like an art; you can either get it right or f*** it up lol. But in the end, it all depends on what the owner is looking for...so what one may think is "ugly and ricey" another may find it attractive and exotic. On the other hand, some people may find stock cars plain and boring, while others find it perfectly appealing. It's all a matter of taste IMO

My car is stock under the hood, but I added some visual mods. Tint, wheels/tires, Eibach Pro Kit, splash guards, rear spoiler. I didn't do any debadging because I don't like the bare rear end look.
I may do more mods in the future, but I don't want to do too much, then get tired of the car too early. I'll do the exhaust, supercharger, etc sometime in the next few years, but for now, it's subtle classy visual aids only.

At the least i think it should have a drop, G37's have a massive stock wheel gap.
I like a few badges left, looks cleaner. With all of them its just too busy, i only kept my Mt. Fuji

I see everyone's dropped/slammed/tucked ride...and I'm drooooooling, and soooooo tryin to hold back lol
I have absolutely no problem with someone thinking their bone stock vehicle is better than one with thousands of dollars invested in it. Everyone has a right to an opinion and I would never suggest that you are wrong. It's taste. Taste is personal. But to suggest that modifications are "ill-conceived" is just ignorant. Yes, there are companies out there simply looking to turn a profit. Those are the companies that sell sh*t. The people who buy those parts and put them on their vehicle, those are your ricers. There are, however, MANY aftermarket parts companies out there that put extensive research and development into the parts they produce. Nismo, C-West, Top Secret are a few of many that come to mind... They spend millions of dollars perfecting the parts they sell. The livelihood of those companies depend upon the product they put forth. These are the companies with proven results and the reputation to back it up. These are the companies that make your narrow-minded comments ignorant.
I am in no way suggesting that any and every modification to the cars of this forum are tasteful. I have seen quite a few by which I am not particularly impressed and I'm quite sure that many members do not love the decisions I have made with my car. That is not my point. My point is that, although you have every right to your opinion about the superiority of your stock G to any of the modified G's on this site, I think you should keep in mind that if all these reputable aftermarket parts companies were truly producing "ill-conceived, ricer" parts, they would not be able to thrive as they have...
WPPJR30,
You need to calm down a bit, and refrain from personal name calling. I certainly wasn’t saying that every mod is ill-conceived—just some of them. For example, mods that void warranties, mods that don’t do what they’re supposed to do or those that are overly expensive can fit into this category. And yes, we’ve all seen some mods that are nausea triggering ugly. But I’m sorry if I gave you the impression that I thought ALL mods were poor choices.
As far as aftermarket companies that are reputable, I agree with you and said nothing to the contrary. And I certainly support any owner’s decision to legally mod their cars and discuss them on this forum. What I don’t like is suggestions that we stock owners don’t really belong on this forum, or that we are not really G37 enthusiasts, which is why I posted my response in the first place.

And, for the record, I hope you do not lump me into the group of members (I hope it is a small group) who believe that stock owners do not belong here. I don't believe there should be a cookie-cutter member who must meet certain requirements or follow certain protocol when it comes to modifying their cars. I enjoy the variety.
