Chrome lip thingy growing on me
Chrome lip thingy growing on me
The chrome trunk accent was by far the thing that made me go
when the G37 coupe hit the showroom floor. When I got my car, I thought to myself, I'll live with it until I get a wing. The more I looked at the stock wing the more I thought that it doesn't make the rear end look much better; not bad, just not better. Now I'm thinking that the chrome trunk accent is part of the character of the car and I actual prefer it as a result. It is weird how things like that grow on you over time. Who knows, maybe I'll start liking the false air intakes too..... okay, I'll chalk that up in the never column.

I just took mine off and added the spoiler after 8 months. I felt the rear end was "lacking". Not that I love the OEM spoiler, needs to extend to the fenders more. The G35 spoiler nailed it.
The rear of the G does seem a little wanting without basic mods even "dealer mods". With the rear splash guards and spoiler the end looks a lot better in my opinion. I think the G would benefit from a stock rear diffuser too like the 335is.
I hated the chrome lip on the rear the moment I first saw it and I still hate it today. It just doesn't look right. Then when I finally saw a G37 coupe with the factory rear spoiler, I thought it looked great. Much better than the "flying nun" rear spoiler on the G35 coupe.
I like it better without the splash guards. But it sure seem that the majority of coupes on the lot were ordered with the splash guards....probably a dealer profit thing.

And I agree with ^ that the spoiler on the 37 is WAY better than the huge not-so-good looking wing on the 35

The chrome lip looks only good in a black car. Otherwise it looks tacky to me. Hence that is why I have a wing. Not sure why Infiniti thought this was a great idea. Oh well I'm sure plenty of people like it, just not me.
