My first choice was AG. Then the dealership brought me a black one from another dealership without telling me. I was going to tell them to take it back, but after seeing it sittin' pretty in the back, I couldn't help but take it.

I said my previous black car would be my last one, but this time, I mean it. My next car will either be graphite or white for sure.

When I first got my black G, I was both impressed and scared of it... I know how beautiful a black car can look when it's been properly detailed, but it wasn't until I learned how to take care of it the right way. Believe me, it's not easy to keep a black car swirl free, but once you acquire the skills and master them, you then won't have to run away from it at the dealership just because you think the car is going to look dirty or because it will be too difficult to keep clean.

If you look at it from a different perspective, it doesn't matter whether a lighter color will hide dirt better than black, that car will still be dirty. To me, personally, it doesn't matter that other people cannot notice my dirty car, what matters is that I know it's dirty.

I admire and envy some qualities and options you have with other colors, I love pearled white and white because you can add dark trim, carbon fiber diffusers, dark wheels, and it will look sick. But it doesn't matter how much you wax and buff a lighter color car, you will never achieve reflections like these without a black car:

You can even see that sticker underneath the side mirror that comes from factory reflected on the door...and this is an '08 model!

And last, but not least....can you imagine Darth Vader's helmet white, or red?

Didn't think so....lol. Case closed.

completely personal, but i think you are choosing between two fantastic colors for the g. black is one of the few colors to give a mirror-like finish to the point that it sometimes hurts eyes to look at it. white is also amazing because it gives a sense of purity and many lines of the g that get hidden by the reflective nature of black paint will stand out more on white. black accents on white are much more apparent and aggressive on a white car than the other way around. another color that really shows the body lines well is LP.
i had a tough time choosing between white or black myself. I chose black for a couple reasons. one reason being that paint matching any aftermarket body part is near impossible to perfect on white. the sun and other elements slowly but surely change the shade of white over time and I frankly don't trust many body shops being able to nail a white paint match perfectly. second, black to me has that stealthy look going for it. some might say its childish or just outright sketchy (as do my folks at home), but i like it.
here is a couple of my newer g pics. if you really want to see some nice black and white g cars, take a look at the GotM threads. those have some super dope g's and you will usually find a couple black or white ones every month in the nominations.

I think black looks the best, especially at night. Take a look at this video

Both colors are great, but...

Black is difficult to care for. It's dirty within 5 minutes of leaving the car wash, literally. Also, if your summers are hot, black is brutal.

The white isn't a flat white, it's pearlescent. Not only does it appear clean longer, but the color changes slightly under street lights/moonlight. Also, white stands out more at night, the black blends in with every other car.

Here's a timeline illustrating my thoughts on the subject;

I had this (it rained that night, which meant straight to the wash),

(at Kern River)

but then some dingus did this.

So, I got this.

Like white so much that now I have this. Diamond White (pearlescent), not Arctic White.

Again, you can't go wrong with either, but I made my case for white.

Since this thread was started in 2010 I'm pretty sure the OP made their decision, but this could serve as a great thread for those who are still going back and forth. With that said, I'm just going to leave this here...

IMO, white is clean and classy and black is aggressive looking. Can't go wrong either way. Both are great colors.
