What Planet are you from? The clutch is WAY MORE expensive than brakes to replace. Thats why PEOPLE will tell you to use your brakes because it is cheaper and easier to replace than the clutch.
I only down shift if I am in slow traffic because I have to keep the flow moving other than that if I need to go from 60 to 20 mph I just keep it in 6th (you should never roll to a stop in neutral because you might need to swerve and hit the gas to avoid something) and once I hit 20 mph I rev match.

It's fine if you don't engine brake, no one is saying it's what you have to do. It's just one way of slowing down (that when done correctly will have zero ill effect).
If you're in neutral and need to gas it and avoid something...you could just put it in gear and do so...

Not only do I double clutch down shift rev match, I also wear this on my freeway commute to and from work.

One of the most common misconceptions about downshifting, you CAN skip gears! Your transmission does NOT need to go in order when shifting up or down. Don't get me wrong, its not great to go from first gear at 3k RPM's to sixth, but if you are getting on it in third gear and change into sixth to cruise then there is nothing wrong with that.
