Kicked it for the first time today...
I'm breaking in my 6mt but tonight I couldn't resist the urge to kick the throttle a bit...turned off the VDC and almost floored it, to 4500 rmp, then shifted to second and did it again.
Wow!! Fasted car I've been in since my teenage days (426 hemi's, 440 magnums, etc). I'm sure it has lots more but I don't want to push it yet.
SO where's the power peak? What rpm is the best for acceleration to the 1/4 mile?
If I do this every day, will it kill my car???

Wait till you get it up to red line a few times in 2nd and 3rd gear. Pure automotive bliss.
Yes, if you take your car over 6K RPM for more than 5 seconds, your engine will very likely throw a piston through your heads. I wouldn't try it. It's not covered by warranty.

I used to drive my acura, over 6k many times, never blew a piston. has this happened on this forum?

I hope you're joking, this is far from the truth.....

OP - get that puppy up to redline! Next time you're on the highway slow down to 50 or so then drop it into 2nd......

Sometimes they'll be near redline for minutes at a time...
Seriously.
Redline is no problem. Just be safe.
Second and third gear in the 4k-6k range is fun.
