it's made of styrofoam and leather and i believe cardboard for the backing ..no way its 300lb

unless you must take it out to put like a roll cage in there, you would not gain anything worth the trouble

If you really want a G37 without a back seat, get a 370z.

No point in taking out the back seat.

Best way to save weight inside the car is to remove the stock seats and get some CF racing ones. Stock seats are 60ish pounds each.

i have mine out right now, the bottom and the folding back. the bottom weighs MAYBE 5lbs its really light, the folding back is heavier but maybe its like 10-15lbs at the most.

FYI when you take all that out you get alot of noise coming from the rear so its really not worth it.

ok im really REALLY bored so i just went down to the garage to weigh them haha

Seat Bottom - 13.5lbs
Seat Back - 29.5lbs

So a little heavier than i thought but still only totals out at 43lbs.

Not worth taking out forever but maybe for a track day i guess.

To remove:

Bottom:
Grab the front of the seat right in the middle of each seat section and pull up...HARD. itll pop out. Then just pull it forward and out.

Back:
Fold it down.
Pull the carpet up from the bottom, theres a flap held with velcro.
Youll see the latch to release teh back when folding, remove the right side cable which connects to the pull handle in trunk. its easy.
Theres 1 screw on each side, 12mm IIRC, just unbolt both and thats it.
