Perspective / Guidance

Hey Folks...

I'm a signature away from buying a 2008 G37S.
Black Ex/Graphite In, Nav, Spoiler, Tech Pkg...
I've only seen pictures, Dealer says car is in Excellent Condition.
No Paintwork, No scratches (We'll see ) No issues with leather interior.
Car is "Certified", Has 22K miles and I've got them to $31K and they're giving 6yr/100K warranty. Should I put the shamrock on this thing Wednesday?

Anything special to look out for...???

Thanks All,

JC

I don't know about the price, but its not often you'll get an extended warranty like that - especially when it is still under factory warranty. I'd check into the details of the warranty.

Right... Basically it is just an extension of the Original 4yr/50Kmiles
to 6yr/100K miles... That is how it was explained to me... Still pretty good tho. I do have one other choice...they're at $33K and the car has 7,100 miles.
No warranty tho... So the question... Although I don't think 16K miles is a big deal, its when those miles come... I'm thinking if its in the 75-100K range it may be safer to have the warranty... Thing is... I really doubt I'll hit those miles in 3yrs... so is the warranty worth it???

Yes, just in case the dealership tries to charge you for labor for normal warranty work.

Won't we always fight that battle Coupe D???

Thinking this way because I'm ready to pull the trigger on the 7K mile car. It was a dealer owners ride which he baby'd and it is like brand new... AND I only do like 11K/yr and still have the balance of the Original... Not sure of who or where or how the 22k car was driven... Ugh... Decisions

You do mean, no extended warranty right? I mean the second option still has it's normal manufacturer's warranty, right?

I'd say take the second option...BUT...tell them you want it for $31K instead of $33K. Walk away if they don't.

And I'm not telling you to do this just because I have nothing to lose. I'm telling you based on the information you've provided, what I would do. I've purchased 5 cars since I was 18 years old. I've walked away from deals entirely...others I've walked away and the dealer yanked me back in and agreed to my offer...the car I have now...I ordered two 2008 G37's from Grubbs Infiniti...when the first one came in...they tried to jack me around on the price and upgrades...so I walked away. I went straight to Sewell Infiniti that same day...left that night with a brand new 2008 G37S exactly how I wanted it.

My philosophy is always be ready to walk away from the table if you don't feel you are getting what you want.

check if the extended warranty is by the dealer ship or by a third party vendor. if it's by a third party, it will be a pain since the dealership has to verify with the vendor everytime before warranty work is done.

I did call on this car once before and their price was 34,949... I walked away!!!
They came back... Honestly, I've done the research and price wise this is on the money.
Car has EVERY Option... Prem/Nav Pkg, Automatic Sport w/spoiler, Tech pkg...

ruckus -
Thanks for the offer man... I'm looking for Blue Slate or Black

beerme -
The 22K mile car is the Dealer "Certified Car" Warranty extension. +2yrs, upto 100K.
I've got balance of OEM Warranty and will put ~11K/yr on car, so mile # is out of play,
although another 2yrs would be nice, I'm leaning towards the car with 15K less use...

Black on black is my favorite color combo. I've had 2 black cars and it was a lot a work keeping them looking good. Good luck with that, but yeah, congrats again and enjoy it. She's a beaut!
