Just bought my G37 6MT!!! but..

they have to order it from Japan. It should arrive the end of May!

So, the dealer did the usual sales pitch, insurance, undercoating, Boomerang. So the question is, what shoul I get?

I understand that the undercoating is electronic! Is this for real?
Also is Boomerang the best antitheft?

Any other things I should get like floor mats, nitrous...

Order it from japan? why dont you try a different dealer and see if they can find one instead. I'm sure the car you want is somewhere in the country, and a dealer can find it.

the only thing worth buying from dealer is possibly the wheel protection plan; ONLY if it includes curb rash repair and the basic tire protection. I have this plan and regret getting it. Seemed like a good deal but I rarely use it

I don't know about where you live but I'm saving 1000$/year on my insurance by installing a Boomerang system on my car. Installation is 500$ and it's about 100$/year for the boomerang fees.

whoa why would they order it from Japan when I'm sure they can buy a car from a different dealership. If not try another dealership or shop around online near our area or state.

It was supposed to be 2500$ per year. They told me that if I got boomerang it would drop to 1500$ per year.

Did the dealer actually tell you they're ordering from Japan?

I'm going to guess...the tech package! Or maybe a really strange colour combo.

Do I win?!

Besides, any competent dealer would have already searched the national inventory, including stuff coming off the boat in future shipments.

aaaaaaand there's the magic word we've seen plenty of dealers that are not that...so don't assume your dealer knows exactly what they say.

"trust but verify" are good words to practice

Yah yah, we all know that Definitely call around. I guess it's also possible that some dealers wouldn't risk giving up regular allocation to make a custom order if they feel that the customer isn't committed to going through with it when the car finally gets to the showroom. Especially if it has a weird configuration they might have trouble shifting.

Its the 6MT black on black with the tech package. I'm in Canada, and there isn't any available in the country at the moment. Went to 2 dealers, both told me it was 2 months. Nobody stocks the rear wheel drive 6 speed.
The dealer did say, he would try to see if he could intercept one off the boat. Why wouldn't he want to get my cash if he could?

Anyhow, it's going to be a long wait...
I could have got a silver 2009 for 5K less...

Tech package seems to be very hard to get generally (that's why I had to order mine, too).

As for the long wait...well, it'll give you plenty of time to read through the manuals in advance

I was bored at work one afternoon so I made a little countdown app that sits in the corner of my desktop, taunting me
