Wow, that's horrible. Did the battery die or something?

Nope hasn't happened to me but I heard some people were having this kind of problem. It might be your battery.

Not sure if you can get it warrantied or not cause I heard different stories.

Generally speaking the alternator should be able to power the car once its been started. I don't see how this relates to the battery though I could be wrong.

Agree - your battery provides power to start the car while the generator provides power while the engine is running.

With all the power going out at the same time, though, it sounds possible that a major ground or connection failed or somehow the power circuit opened. If it was just the ECU you would still have interior power and if it was just the BCM you would have engine power. There must be a common power junction - the dealer should quickly be able to find it.

Sounds like an alternator issue. My alternator died in my Accord once and all these lights on my dashboard came on. I think if your alternator dies, then your car relies on the battery for power, although that would milk your battery dry pretty quick. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

it happened on and off not all the time. if your car started again afterwards its not the alternator.

To throw another rat in the blender, had a 98 Toyota Sienna Van that died twice on us while driving down the road. Just shut off, no power .... had to "glide" to the side of the road. Turned out to be a bad intermittent connection on the back of the main fuse box. Shop (not the dealer) had to order a new fuse box and pain stakingly insert/connect every wire back into the new fuse box. Never had the issue since (at least up until we traded it in for the G)

It would be nice if you posted more info on the situation. Like others have said, did you try to start the car up again and when you did what happened. Did the engine turnover did you hear a clicking did you get any dash lights etc. Did you have the car jumped and did it run or run for a bit then die?

Infiniti Roadside is your friend.

yeah it happened...pulled to the side..popped the battery compartment and wiggled the negative and positive terminals..saw the lights came back on and just got my *** home asap before something else happened...might be a bad connection...gonna get it checked out when it gets warmer outside...got no time to play in 30 degree weather...

and yea it started again so i dont think its the alternator...must be bad connection...started after i put the grounding kit on...probably just didnt tighten it up good enough...i will check though...
