New g 4 me!

After months of research and shopping for the just right car at the just right price, I bought my pg coupe-sport-premium-auto today. We have had an auspiciouos beginning as the tpms light came on before I got the car home Dealer says normal when temps are cool-hell it's in the upper 40's low 50's. I call BS but it was late in the day on Sat so I gotta drive 75 miles back to the dealer next week. I'm assuming it's a bad sensor and hope they don't scratch my wheel replacing it. Other than this false start LOL all is good so far.

No that happens. When the temperature goes from pretty warm to cold very quickly, the sensor reads less air in the tire because cold air is less dense and hot air expands.

Just check the psi on all the tires and put them to ~35-37psi (cold) and drive for a few miles, the light will go away.

Anyways, congrats!

check them all yourself first before you go taking it back to the dealer. And if they are low you have to drive the car for a few mins and get above 15mph for the light to turn off and reset.

Congrats on the new car and switch to nitrogen in you tires. It expands and condense less than air and is less likely to throw off your TPMS.

Thanks guys! Just a bit of further background. I and my buddy both bought new G coupes yesterday-his did not get the TPMS warning-my tire pressures are 36 psi cold all the way around and adjusting the pressure and driving has not mitigated this issue. I"ll update on progress.

if there is a problem with your TPMS I am almost 100% positive that the light will flash when you start your car then go solid.. there are posts about it on here.. when the light comes on solid as you are driving.. you need to put air in it and sometimes drive for a whole day before it goes out.. sometimes the light goes away quickly though.. congrats on the car, and learn to love those lights! LOL

Congrats, and I didn't hit the issue on mine (but it's been cold here too for a while)..but it does sound minor. Hope it turns out to be minor, and have fun with the car!
