I didn't report this to the police. I had already called 911 regarding a man trying to break into our house. Lately, a lot of bad news has been happening where i live. Probably because of the economy. A man almost broke into our house a month ago. He said he needed to give us newspapers.. and this was at like 9 pm. He was a bald mexican with a black jacket. We called the police, and all they did was drive by a few times. By the time they got there, the guys were already gone. They were driving a old white van. Ones that are usually seen in those kidnapping movies.

all you can do now is go into prevention mode

visible security cameras, motion detecting lights, possibly a car shed if ur neighborhood allows it

 

Motion detection lights are an amazing deterrent.

 

I feel that.... for Houston.... ever since Katrina the crime rate has spiked and at least twice a week people come into the bank because their vehicle was vandalized (stolen purses, wallets, briefcases etc.)

 

I hear ya. I'll probably start off with security camera's. I'll add motion detecting lights later if anything. AND WHAT A COINCIDENCE. Exactly as I respond a car's alarm is going off. That must be a sign. A camry just went off.

 

that's just scary, i probably wouldnt sleep at night, at least not well, yeah there's some great cameras nowadays, that u can setup wirelessly and hook up to the internet and check via smartphone/remote computer if needed

not sure what kind of house you have, i.e. like a suburbian house with a huge yard, or a city house with a small yard and ur neighbor literally 3 feet away, but if u were to get motion detection lights, get the flood lights that light up the whole freaking area, not the dinky stuff, i mentioned the neighbor 3 feet away cus if u do the flood lights haha might wanna ask ur neighbor if he minds
