Talking 0-60 times on stock G37 journey coupe

Hey guys ... just did some 0-60 times on my G37 coupe jouney ... best time out of 2 tries was 5.42 seconds with 2 people (310 lbs total) and 90 degree weather in the DS mode of the 7AT. I used a friend's dashhawk which was pretty good, and easy to use, just plug it into the access port and it reads all of the valuable computer data. You can then upload the data to your computer and analyze your runs and your car's mechanics.

FYI, the intake temperature was only 11 degrees above the outside temperature at 101 degrees and the engine temperature was 185 degrees.
According to the downloaded results, 1st gear ran up to 30mph, 2nd to 49.7mph and 3rd past 60. I'll try and get the graph in a jpg and share it here.

Wow thanks for sharing, would be nice to start modding now and see how those affect your times. I'd ask you to do a quarter mile too but that would probably exceed the speed limit (unless you're close to the AutoBahn lol)

Actually I'm am trying to find a quiet back road to do the 1/4 mile run ... According to R&T the 1/4 mile is in the 13 sec range at a little over 100MPH ... so I just need space to get up and get back down. When I do the 1/4 mile run, then I'll start with the mods to see how it affects the times. Though ... with the intake temps the way they are, I'm not sure how much more speed I'll get from the CAI and exhaust which are the only notable mods now.

Wait till your engine bay get's hotter and have the intake temperature rechecked?

CAI also increases mass flow rate of air entering, that's what also accounts to the gains but let's not turn this into Stock vs. Aftermarket intake as this topic has been beaten to death on our boards (run a quick search if you want to read more about it)

Keep us posted with your progress please

I know the CAIs add more air and colder air to the system, thats probably my first step. I was looking at the ones from Stillen? Do you know if anyone in this forum has checked their 0-60 and 1/4 mile stats with the CAI and exhaust mod?
