Need help with shipping the G!

Hi Everyone,

I will be moving to the east coast next month and need to ship my G!

Can anyone recommend a shipping company? Any ideas on price for open or enclosed container?

Any other suggestions prepping the car before the transport??

Don't have a clue but it doesn't sound like it would be cheap. I would say a basic car cover minimally for some protection. Best of luck in your move.

^I don't know about that, how long of a drive would that be? Gas, hotel, food (unless he packs), it can add up. Unless having it shipped is truly expensive, driving it should be his last resort IMO.

haha No way I'm gonna drive the G all the way, which is 2533 miles to be exact (shortest possible way). It sounds fun though if it wasn't my car lol! It may be the cheapest way, but considering the wear and tear + gas it might a be coin toss!

I would say to choose a very reputable company. My cousin shipped a car from PA to CA last year. He chose some cheap company and 2 guys came to the house, drove the car to some location, loaded on a trailer and drove to CA non-stop. They said they would take turns sleeping in the car until they got to CA.

Sounded kinda shady to me, but if your shipping I would make sure they have an enclosed trailer and they pick up from your house.

Why don't you want to drive? It's a car, it's made to be driven. I'll be driving mine from AL to CA next spring/summer and doing some sight-seeing along the way. Other option is to rent a Uhaul for moving stuff and then get one of those car trailer things and tow the G.

Agreed! Gotta be careful about those people. Do you know any reputable companies?

Don't get me wrong, I love driving this car. It's just that I can't really plan this to be a sight-seeing trip. Plus I'm gonna be by myself the whole way.

Uhaul is a good idea as well, but I don't plan to move anything other than my cloths and personal items.

This is gonna be one tough decision to make!
