Hail Damage this morning

I'll post pics later, at work right now. I live in Norman, OK and was hit by a flash hail storm this morning (Oklahoma weather...you never know what the hell is coming). I managed to pull into a gas station overhang about three minutes into it, but I just noticed that my car in now covered in tiny while paint chip dots. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
<o></o>
I'll called my insurance to make a claim but wanted to know if anyone has experience anything similar. Are they going to have to repaint the entire car or touch up the dots? There must hundreds of them and they are smaller than the head of a pin. You only really notice them way up close, but it will bug me forever if I don't get it fixed. Oh, the car is a 08, S, VR.<o></o>

Hey, sorry to hear that. I'm up in Edmond and we got a little hail this morning too, but i dont think it was that bad. Now this makes me want to go check my car and make sure. As far as getting it fix i dont know what they're gonna have to do. Back in Feb. when we had that tornado come through my dad's escalade got it pretty bad from the hail and he took it to a place called Dent Masters on Memorial Rd. and Santa Fe. They did an excellent job and it looks brand new. He didn't have paint damage though.

Sorry to hear about your car.
I got hit by a sand storm last month on the highway and it really did a number on my paint..
My insurance company is paying for my new paint job, but it will never be as nice as it was...
My friend who was driving next to me got all the pits on his paint touched up and had his whole car re-polished. Looked like new when I saw his car, but then again the shop he went to took over a month to get everything...

They did just pop out the dents. There were no dots or any paint damage, just hail dents.

Hey thanks for help guys. Wow!! a whole month. Again you really can't see it unless you look up close but I'll always know it there. Funny thing is that I just had a clear bra put on two week ago. Love the car, love the color, HATE the paint quality.

I was a flash hail storm at 8 this morning, going down sooner road. I got the clear bra at superior concepts in edmund - you can google their website. It was $650, kinda pricey but that all we have here and they did a very good job.

Thats not too bad. I was gonna get one one from them but at the time i couldnt afford it. Wish I had done it though. My dad got his escalade clear bra'd at Brians Automotive, and honestly it looks like ****, and thats after they re-did it twice. I told him he should have gone where you went but he didnt listen.

So sorry for your hail damage. I feel your pain. Down here in East Texas we get the same type of nasty weather. My RX8 took a beating 1 night and I had it covered in comforters (my 2-car garage was full of my wife's junk). Aluminum and hail don't mix well. When I got my G37 I had her clear out some of her "stuff" so I could park in the garage. If it looks like bad weather I drive my '99 Civic to work.

I have seen cases where if you just let the car sit out in the sun, the dents will come out. If that doesn't work, you can use a PDR specialist ( Paintless Dent Repair) They usually charge by the amount and size of the dings. As the name says it, it doesn't involve repainting your car.

^^ Which is why I purchased the Dent Protection with my G. Was $499 rolled into the cost of the car but all dents are removed by PDR and they come out to my house. Its great having insurance like that.

I've had PDR done on my G twice already for hail damage and both times it looks flawless when I get it back. As far as I am concerned those guys are miracle workers!!
