/Cry... Some douche hit me...

Well... 3 months in to owning my car, some douche decided to make a u-turn in the middle of street outside my house as I was pulling into my diveway and he hit me...

The damage thankfully is not that bad. He was ba))s deep in my driver side rear bumper but the paint did not crack and the bumper did not stay dented. There are just a couple of light scratches and rubber bumper transfer. I really hope I don't need to replace the bumper. Non exact paint match will drive me crazy. I'm really glad he didn't hit the quarterpanel.

AAA gave me some "approved" body shops but I'm really weary. Of course I will do my homework on the list they sent me, but I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a fantasic body shop in the LA area (preferably on the west side/south bay area).

you should not have to use their "approved" shops.

also, you won't need to worry about paint matching issues on BO.

^+1 OB is easy to match, IP is hard.

I know a shop in OC with excellent paint. PM me if you'd like.

I just hit the side panel on top of the front right tire and there is a huge dent. The paint is fine execpt for the edge but i can live with that, because i dont want to have to color it and the colors or self healing paint not to be perfect. I have blue slate is this a hard color to find or fix?

sorry to hear that I know how you feel. I just got into a small car wreck and fixed my car.

Also, to atag012. I have BS also and my paint came out just fine on my car when it got fixed.

Good luck man. Let us know how it goes! OB shouldn't be a problem paint matching (although there are some pretty crappy places out there...my dad had my Accord fixed at a P.O.S. shop and my clear coat started to peel 8 months later).

it seems like you are not that familiar with auto insurance claim process,...

you are not obiligated to use their "approved" so called "authorized shop"

you have right to choose repair facility. and like everyone said, if i was you, if there was any type of mechanical contact on your bumper with other's. i would definately get it replaced

I totally understand that I don't need to use a pre-approved shop. My biggest concern is finding a reputable body shop in LA. There are too many shady places out there and unfortunately, even though I've lived here my entire life, this is the first really nice car I've ever owned and I don't know of any really great body shops here. I am doing my research though.

Is that guy an idiot? He thought he was going to make that turn? You were pulling into your driveway when he hit you? I'm having a hard time understanding how your two cars came to be where they are in that picture?

yes... The guy is an idiot. He was trying to make a u-turn with his huge, old-school Mercedes on a narrow road and hit me as I was backing into my parking spot.
