Mod a Lease?
I'm leased and so far I am: lowered, aftermarket wheels, switched the HID's and upgraded to LED's..... and about to get the Status Elite intake..... dealership shouldn't mind much since they do the same thing and jack the price up even further..... I plan on selling mine to a lucky buyer near the end of my lease.
lOl well all i have is bolt ons and its ez to change and the neons and leds the dealership wont mind at all.....end of lease bolt ons come off and get sold so i dont get it , its not like im putting in a tt and getting a custom paint job with full custom interior then you can say i shoulda bought it out

So, I've got a question for those who mod and are leased.....So your lease ends, and it's time to return the car, you take off your bolt-on mods, return the car to stock and turn the car in to the dealer. What are your plans for the mod parts you took off? I really doubt you're gonna get a good sale price for them (versus what they cost new for you) after 3 years of use. Isn't that just wasting money?
Not trying to start an argument.....just a question.
talk with your dealer/sales rep about their specific attitude/policy toward mods.. I knew I was going to mod mine so I asked about that while considering to lease or buy and they told me I could tint the windows, get new rims and return it with them as long as they were the same size or bigger and had 4 matching tires, etc. They said mods were added value as far as they were concerned.

^ Yep. Thats what i encountered as well. When i returned my corolla as a trade in, they even asked me to bring back the stock head unit, so they could put it back on.
I wouldn't mod a lease because i KNOW that i will be giving it back in the future. However, this can also happen to people who finance. They buy a bunch of mods, and just decide to trade the car in, losing money on mods AND on the trade in.

It's not Wasting money.... It's enjoying the car for the 2 or 3 years you have it.
And u can always try a private sale or just buy the damn car at the end. I had an 04' G35 that was modded and now my G37 too..... don't plan on stopping!
Mod it and LOVE IT!

Why not just buy it out at end of lease so you don't have to worry about removing the mods, or giving the dealer the money you put into mods.
If you want to get a new whip, you should be able to sell your G for at least as much as the buyout, and likely more.
That is my plan anyway.

Just mod away. As long as you dont do anything permanent to parts that cant be removed youre good.
You can put your car back to stock, trade parts and sell parts when its done. I did it with my last G, all the money i got from selling my old parts paid for most of my new parts
If youre handy with the tools most of it is easy, the only thing thats not easy is headers and HFCs, so you go to a shop no biggie, exhaust and intakes are easy, headlights taillights are easy.
To the guy that said would you paint an apartment?: NO, and i wouldnt paint the car either cause thats not reversable. As long as you dont do anything permanent then its all good, you decorate your apartment dont you? Well im decorating my car!

Whats wrong with painting an apartment that you plan on living there for over 2-3years? so you wouldn't spend the $200 to tint your windows if you are leasing it? Even if you purchased the car, You really think the new owner of the cars gonna give you $6000 that you spent on them forged 20s?
i've seen the hardship when leased and returning it bakc. i will tell you this, it isn't your property so they do want their property back as stock as it can be. they charged my friend $1000 for "suspension alteration" and also stoof had charges for g35nyc.com stickers-- $25 per window x 4 windows.... i took it off for him no charge and had it reinspected. but it's Infinitis or the bank's property
