how big is the gas tank?

Tried searching and didn't find it maybe I wasn't efficient enough but maybe someone could just tell me how big is the gas tank?

Also I showed the dealer the bubble in the seat and they ordered me a new seat.

Open up your owner's manual and turn the fluid capacities section......

I don't agree with this. I've read the owners manual and I've read lots of forum posts and I think that anyone who says 20 - even if it's Infiniti - is lying. My dash has read "--" (indicating almost empty) with the needle on E many many times, and the most I can ever get at the gas station is up to about 18 gallons.

Well when it shows the -- , it means you still have a reserve. If you really want to test it, fill up one of those 2 gallon cans, and go driving until your car stops. Fill up the 2 gallons, and go to a gas station, if you fill up around 18, then Infiniti didnt cheat you out of your hard earned money by lying about how big the tank is.

hahahaha. I was thinking about suing them :-P If anyone tries this - let me know. I don't have any of those gas tanks and don't want to bother buying one for 1 time use (live in apt with no place to store it). Good idea though!

I was curious about this also. In Canada its measured in Liters. I'm supposed to have a 76 ltr tank but I filled up when it indicated -- and all I was able to put in the tank was 52 ltrs.

4 gallons = 15.12 ltrs + 52= 67 ltrs which still leaves 9 ltrs according to the manual.

omg we've had so many discussions about this before your reserve is calculated by how you drive so it fluctuates your not ALWAYS going to have a 4 gallon reserve my light has came on before when i had 6gallons or indicated 1/4 tank left but only took 11gallons

I’m not sure about the G37, but years ago when I owned a 280ZX the manual was quite emphatic about not letting the car run out of gas due to the fuel pump being cooled by the gas itself. The fuel gage actually had two readings, with the second, more detailed, kicking in when down to a quarter tank or less.

So perhaps these safety margins of low fuel warnings even though there’s still around 4 gallons left is to prevent fuel pump failures. In that regard, I would never let my tank run dry for any reason.

You shouldnt let you tank run dry because you dont want the settlement at the bottom of your tank to go through your engine. I put premium non-discount fuel in my tank and I still dont let it hit dashes.

Wow u get all pissed off at little things. Anger management anyone. It was a simple question. If you don't have anything to add to the thread other than insulting people, you should probably try to keep it on topic or keep your comments to yourself.

It's not the amount of posts you have that count, but the actual posts that contribute to helping others in the G37 community and the visitors to this forum that count.

If this has been discussed so many times, why is it when I do a search there is only one thread that directly relates to this topic????? On time doesn't count as multiple times in my books, and at that the title was "How many miles worth of gas when distance to empty is ---?". Not how big is the gas tank.

Manufacturers all have different standards for the amount of fuel that is available in the reserve, and I can see how there can be confusion for people that have owned a few cars.

it's the korean temper.

fact is, both sides hold a valid point. we've all been guilty of doing this in the past. as long as the OP learned that search is your friend, it's all good!
