You should take it to the stealership to get it checked out if you believe it doesn't work..

Yep. It's a safety feature. IF your cruise is on and you turn on the wipers past intermittent, it beeps and shuts off your cruise. If your wipers are on and you try to activate the cruise, it wont set.

It was snowing here yesterday and I had cruise control on and had my wipers on full speed.

Mine cuts off. Maybe just with Tech Package?

EDIT: Owner's Manual on p. 5-30 says it cannot be used outside of 25 to 90 mph, while brakes are applied, when wipers are operating at speed LO or HI, or with VDC off. You must have a factory freak John.

If you're using the Intelligent Cruise Control, it won't let you set cruise with the wipers on. If you turn off the intelligent though and just use regular cruise control, you can still set the cruise with the wipers on

I'm pretty sure I've had the ICC on with the wipers on. I have noticed though that when it rains heavily it just stops working. I *think* regardless of my wiper setting.

I'm going to have to test this now.

Mine doesn't do that. I've had the CC set at 60-78 and wipers on full blast and everything worked fine. For all you guys that it turns off with wipers on, do you have the ICC option thingy, lol? I don't and that has never happened to me.

Edit: It appears we have a winner from the 2 posts above mine.

Can we get a matrix of results and failures with the different options of the known test configurations you used that does NOT include unknown variables as this would off-set and basically render the test useless. Thanks.

Edit: Yep, the winner is Kiera, three posts above mine.

Ok, so I did a test last night and......

50mph, bright sunny day, turn on ICC to it's middle following setting, it worked fine. Turned the wipers all the way on and the ICC continued to work correctly.

So I turned off the cruise control, turned the wipers on all the way, turned the ICC back on and it worked fine again.

Soooooo in my car, it appears that the wiper setting has no effect at all on the function of the ICC.

FWIW my car is a 2008 S, 6mt, with premium, tech, nav, 4was, no spoiler, ambient lighting kit added after purchase, and it's red .

Chances are because it was a bright sunny day you did not leave the wipers on long enough. When you have the ICC on and *THEN* turn on the wipers to either low or high, the ICC has maybe a 3-5 second delay before it beeps to yell at you and disables the ICC. Also I forgot to mention that the ICC *WILL* work if you have the wipers on intermittent (sp?) BUT when you flip it to high/low, like I said there'll be a delay but then it'll turn off. Wipers on and THEN ICC and the cruise won't set.

It may be slightly different on the G as I've not really played with it (my wife's car rarely sees rain if at all) but this is all from playing around with it on my FX45
