Cruise Control Problem
Chances are because it was a bright sunny day you did not leave the wipers on long enough. When you have the ICC on and *THEN* turn on the wipers to either low or high, the ICC has maybe a 3-5 second delay before it beeps to yell at you and disables the ICC. Also I forgot to mention that the ICC *WILL* work if you have the wipers on intermittent (sp?) BUT when you flip it to high/low, like I said there'll be a delay but then it'll turn off. Wipers on and THEN ICC and the cruise won't set.
It may be slightly different on the G as I've not really played with it (my wife's car rarely sees rain if at all) but this is all from playing around with it on my FX45

Regular cruiser control without the Technology package may differ, but that is how mine works. Perhaps because the car brakes for itself in ICC mode and not in regular cruise mode?
It's cool AT TIMES. I probably use it 10% of the time
First, I just wanted to point out (to everyone) that even if you have the tech, you can still use regular cruise control. For those who may not know or haven't read the manual? When turning on your cruise, hold the cruise button instead of just pressing it. You'll see the triangles for following distance disappear and you're using regular cruise. Only thing I don't like about that is that it doesn't display your set speed but that's not a HUGE deal.
Second, I think they have it disabled as a safety feature since you probably should be paying a little more attention to what's going on around you when it's raining and not relying on the car (yeah, the braking is probably part of that as well). As to braking, Nissan/Infiniti is probably figuring that you'll need different braking pressure in the rain so as not to engage ABS. I've noticed that if I let my ICC do the braking, it waits WAY TOO LONG... it kind of freaks you out because if you're coming close to a stop, you let it go, let it go, and JUST when you would logically think you're going to hit the car in front, the car SLAMS on the brakes for you.
Along those same lines and sort of off-subject, Volvo had a "City Driving Experience" at the NY Autoshow. It's a new technology that brakes for you in stop and go traffic. It looked cool and everything but then they showed me a video. There are prerequisites. You have to be below 10MPH *AND* your foot has to be completely off the gas! How often are you in stop-and-go and you completely take your foot off the gas and aren't paying attention? Chances are you'd slightly be on the gas or, better yet, you'd actually be paying attention and give a little gas and immediately get your foot over or on the brake ready to slow down. Oh, and I took some pictures of the cars. It was VERY quiet likely because of the economy. Usually the press days are at least somewhat full but tomorrow was empty. 2 years ago Nissan did lunch and had sushi and alcohol. Yesterday Honda did it and had hot dogs and soda

My cruise works with wipers and I have about 20K on the car now... Always have worked...
I have one too, Cruise works anytime and up to about 97MPH, VDC on, off, wipres on lo, high... Anytime I turn it on!
Thank you for clearing that up. Mine doesn't cut off instantly either. I never counted the number of wipes, but it cuts off shortly after turning the wipers to low or high like it is supposed to.
Think you could make short videos please of these anomolies that nobody else has?
OK I have Tech/Nav/Sport everything. It was raining the other day so I tried this out. With ICC on I turned on the wipers on intermittent, low, and high, for 5 minutes each and the ICC stayed on. I then tried turning on the ICC while the wipers we on each speed setting and it worked.
I tried it on my 2008 G37S coupe and 2009 G37xS sedan and the ICC and wipers worked together each time.

I was reading through the manual and it does infact say that the ICC cannot be set when the wipers are on LO or HI and if the ICC is on then it will be cancelled when the wipers are turned on. I can definitely say this is not the case with my cars and that the ICC and wipers play well together.

Now, was that 10 wipes on high or low?
