I got my car since August of 2008 and put on 3000 miles on it since, I sometimes park my car for a whole week straight and never had a problem with my battery.

I don't belong in this thread, I suppose, but the only problem I have had was a stone dead battery (that recharged after being jumped) when the car sat for seven weeks. If I leave it for a long time again, I'll disconnect the battery to prevent it being drained.
