I have the stillen bracket. The service guy even asked me what it was - seems they get alot of questions from owners about mounting the front without drilling. I would think the Infiniti dealers would know about the Stillen products.

I used a molly screw system to mount my plate through the lower grill to avoid drilling into my bumper. Can't remember the exact measurements but I think the mollys were 10-32 X 2" long. By double bolting and using large washers you can slip the molly through the grill diamond shape holes and then nut and washer them tight. I painted them black to prevent rust and their hardly noticable when I remove the plate. I then use chrome bullet nuts when installing the plate. All this for under 5 bucks if you have the paint.

In New York, a front plate is required and they pull people over on a regular basis without one. My dealership asked me if I wanted them to put the bracket on or not. It was nice to have the choice at least.

How do you install that the front of a G37? Do you put holes under the bumper?

I specifically told my salesman not to drill holes and mount the front plates when I got the car. So they just threw in the mount brackets and hardware in the trunk.

I was okay w/o front plates for a half a year and then I got pulled over for it. I still didn't want to drill any holes there so I did this with zip ties.

You can also do this.

This is the only picture I have showing the plate mount. When you slip the molly spring thru the lower grill diamonds they spring open so you can't pull out the (2 or 3" 10-32 rod) bolt. As you're holding the rod end, put on an over size washer (acually had to use a small one then a larger one) that's bigger than the diamond shaped hole and then put on 2 ea 10-32 nuts (to lock them) so the rod and molly is firm on the plastic grill. With these studs (10-32 rods) sticking out you can then put the plate and frame with a couple of nuts or a nut and chrome bullet. The two nuts tighten together so they don't come loose. Hope all that made sense. One last thing, if you do this make sure you have the right holes so they line up with the plate holes and the grill.

I bought mine from Hoffman Estates/MotorWerks and I got the stock license bracket for the front. I had them install it, it's their job anyway.

I agree, in Chicago - we get ticketed for it quite often. Last year, when I had my G35 coupe, I got a total of 5 tickets for my lack of front license plate.... I decided to bend to their will and get one installed in the new car just to avoid the pain and hassle.

It doesn't look half bad - it's STILL a G37.
